In the heart of Kaduna State,  nigeria,
On a rainy night, Auntie Amina was returning to the orphanage, her heart shattered by a miscarriage. She had lost the only memory she had of her late husband, and the grief was overwhelming. As she stopped a tricycle, she heard the faint wailing of a baby. She looked around, and her eyes landed on a newborn lying in a bin, abandoned and crying uncontrollably.

Auntie Amina's eyes welled up with tears as she gazed at the helpless infant. She couldn't fathom how a mother could discard her child like trash.
She had seen many such cases as an orphanage matron,
Some children were found at the bin
While some at the street,  some at the door step of the orphanage while some lost their parents. So many children with different sad and heartbreaking stories....
But this one struck a chord deep within her. She had just lost her unborn baby, and now, she had found another.

"really some women are wicked, like how could you give birth to a child and still abandoned in the street,  don't you have humanity within you.  They are just a kid.  New born"

With tears streaming down her face, Auntie Amina picked up the baby and cradled her in her arms.
"Subhanallah, Astagfirullah Ya Allah "  she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. Asking forgiveness from Allah . If not a beast!! Who will abandoned their child in a bin, she was just an innocent soul...

As auntie Amina held the baby close, her eyes welling up with tears

"MINHA (gift form god) " she whispered
And so, she named the baby MINHA,a constant reminder of the divine intervention that had brought them together.
"You are a gift from God, a blessing in disguise."

              **PRESENT **

"Minha"  Auntie Amina called

She is 19, resides at the orphanage  in kaduna state, nigeria,
Her eyes are big and dark,  with long eyelashes, farming her eyes like a work of art. Her eyebrows are perfectly shaped and dark
Her nose is small and slightly upturned.
Her dark skin radiate a warm glow,
Her lips are full and inviting, painted a deep shade of pink thet seems otherworldly.
Her hair is a cascade of dark brown tresses, falling down her back like a waterfall.
She's the real definition of beauty
Her smile is like a ray of sunshine, enlightening the world around her, but rarely appears,  hidden behind a veil of sadness and longing

Life at the orphanage is austere, she shares a small room and bed with several other girls, and they take turns using their few amenities available
Despite the hardness and hardship, her resilience and determination shine through.
She works hard to excel in her studies, hoping to secure a better future for herself, her dream is to become successful, to make difference in the world and prove to those who abandoned her she was worthy of love and care .....

The orphanage matron, Auntie Amina, became a surrogate mother, teaching her valuable life skills and instilling a strong sense of morality.
Her morality, intelligent and kindness earned her the affection of everyone at the orphanage

"MINHA" auntie Amina called  again
There she was making her bed
. "Naam!" Minha replied, excusing herself from making the bed. She handed over the task to Nasreen, a girl around her age and hurried out to meet Auntie Amina.

Auntie Amina was conversing with Alhaji Yusuf, one of the orphanage trustees.
"Good afternoon, Uncle," Minha greeted
"Afternoon, Minha. How are you?" he asked.
"I'm good. How is Khairat and Asma'u ?" Minha inquired.

"they are doing well, suna gaishe ki" he replied

"ina Ansawa "

"Gani auntie Amina "

Alhaji Yusuf was a kind and generous man who helped the orphanage in many ways. He provided food, clothes, toys, and even paid school fees for some of the children. He occasionally visited with his family, his wife, Hajiya Jamila, and daughters, Khairat and Asma'u. Minha considered him a father figure, and he had been a tremendous support in her studies, often tutoring her during his visits.   Well he lives in Abuja with his family

"Remember the scholarship exam you wrote?" Auntie Amina asked.
"Yes," Minha replied. "Alhaji Yusuf just shared the good news - you're the top student, and you scored the highest mark!"

"Really?" she asked, brimming with excitement.
"Yes, you've gotten admission to study at Baze University in Abuja. Congratulations, Minha!" Alhaji Yusuf said.
Minha had prepared tirelessly for the exams, studying relentlessly and pouring over textbooks and study materials. She had big dreams of becoming successful and studying at one of the best universities. Alhaji Yusuf had made it possible by applying for a scholarship on her behalf at Baze University, and she was determined to make the most of it. And finally, she had made it.

"I'm proud of you," Alhaji Yusuf said.
Alhaji Yusuf had paid for her hostel and some dues, and she would be leaving for Abuja the next week. Lectures had already started, her admission was late.

"Are you sure you can catch up? Alhaji Yusuf said you only have a month to the first semester exams" Auntie Amina said to minha who was parking her clothes
" i think you should defer this semester," Auntie Amina suggested.
"zan iya insha Allah" minha said
"Allah taimka"
"Amin"

Minha excitement grew as she imagined herself on campus, she had big dreams and was determine to achieve them

The day had finally arrived for Minha to leave for Abuja. She had spent 19 years in the orphanage, and today she was leaving to study in Abuja. It felt as if she was leaving the orphanage forever. Auntie Amina advised her, and so was  the nannies.
And with that   she left with Alhaji Yusuf for Abuja.
she felt a mix of emotions  excitement for her new journey, gratitude for Alhaji Yusuf's support, and sadness at leaving the only home she had ever known. She took a deep breath, trying to absorb the moment.

They dropped by his house,
The Alhaji Yusuf mansion, and Minha couldn't stop admiring the house
Minha's eyes widened as she took in the opulent decorations, the sparkling chandeliers, and the vast spaces. She had never seen such a big and beautiful house in her life
She would be leaving to her hostel tommorow,  Alhaji yusuf wants her to stay at his house with his daughters, but minha didnt agree because she felt like she would be a burden to his family..
She always felt like shes a burden to everyone, her parents abandoned her, she was a burden to them ,minhas thought..

. "Minha!" Khairat engulfed her in a tight hug.

Minha and khairat were both pursuing Business Administration degrees in the same university and same class. Khairat had gotten her admission a long time back, she's not a scholarship student
"how is the school" minha asked khairat.

Khairat told minha about the school and the lecturers, which only fueled Minha's excitement as she imagined herself on campus. Khairat also shared stories about their classmates, including one girl who was intelligent and classy but also rude and stubborn. Khairat warned Minha to stay away from her

"and you know what?" khairat asked
"no" minha shocked her head

"you both looks somehow alike, just that shes fair, rude and stubborn" khairat said , and minha windered how she could resemble someone with different personalities

They chatted about so much and khairat share some of her knowledge  with minha before falling asleep.
Minha spent some time reviewing kairat  notes before turning in for the night.
The next day, Minha would be heading to her hostel, and on Monday, she would start her classes, eager to begin this new chapter of her life
