You sigh as you wake up. You heard how students talk about school. People always told you how lucky you are to be homeschooled your whole life, well, were. You lost that luck. Your first day of real, social school is today. How exciting.
"JADE!" You hear your dad shouting your name. You speed downstairs and get greeted by your parents with the smell of fresh golden pancakes. "Excited?" Asked mum, with a warm smile.
"..no."
"Well, at the end of the day, you will love school! Trust me."
You feel like saying 'No I won't', but you don't want to upset your mother. You just stay quiet and sit at the table, waiting patiently for your favourite breakfast. "Since it's your first day of school, we thought it would be a nice idea to treat you with pancakes!" She noted.
"Thanks"You gobble down breakfast, brush your teeth and hair, get dressed into your uniform, pack your bag, and off you go. Something seemed to click when you opened your house door, you forget every little word the students say about school, you only focus on the pros. You're finally going to have friends! You're finally going to fit in with most other teenagers! You're finally going to be able to relate to those school memes on youtube! And, who knows, you might get a romantic partner along the way!
10 minutes later, you arrive at the front gate. You get intimidated by the amount of students and the massive school building. But, as your mum told you the other day, you're new, meaning everyone will want to talk to you, which is a great opportunity to make new friends.
Entering the gates, you observe your surroundings. You see a variety of different friend groups, all watching you. You get thirsty, so you grab your water bottle and take small sips slowly. You look behind yourself, watching everyone, judging who looks like someone kind to befriend. Unexpectedly, you bump into something, spilling your water all over it. You look infront of yourself and see a very angry blue eyed blonde girl, with water streaming down her face, wetting her uniform. "Sorry!" You immediately say. The girl looks furious, but she just closes her eyes, calms down, and walks past you, still looking annoyed, though. "Great.. someone already hates me.." you think to yourself.
You feel slightly down by what just happened, but you don't allow that to ruin the rest of your day! You keep walking, but see a black girl running towards you. "Hey you must be Jade Hall? I'm Madison, I was asked to guide you around the school for the first couple of days!"
"Uh yes, that's me!" You reply. She seems nice.
"Perfect, the first lesson starts in 10 minutes, that should be enough to show you the school, we just have to be snappy!"After around 10 minutes, Madison showed you the locations of all the classes you have today. "Remember them all?"
"Think so,"
"Okay, if you get lost or have any questions, just find me!" She smiles.
You realise this is a good opportunity to socialise. You feel like you and Madison are friends, and she seems like the person to have lots of those.
"So, who are your friends?" You ask, curiously.
"Well, I have a few, I can introduce them to you if you want!"
"Yeah, sure."You follow Madison, and takes you to a group of 5 people. "You're the new kid, right?" One of them ask.
"Guys, this is Jade, the new girl. She wanted to meet you guys! Jade, this is Samantha, Zoe, Henry, Kaden, and Mike!"
They all look at you. Zoe looks at you emotionlessly, Samantha is grinning hard, Mike smiles, Henry is waving at you beaming, while Kaden just doesn't care.
Samantha was a short blonde girl with green eyes and pigtails, Zoe was a girl with long, silky black hair and deep blue gorgeous eyes, and Henry was a tall boy with brown eyes and messy hair. Kaden was a tall, skinny boy with short black hair and small brown eyes, and Mike was a short green eyed blond, him and Samantha are twins."I like your eyes," stated Henry.
"Oh, thanks." You say back. You act like you don't care much about what Henry said but inside you really do. That's the first time someone said something nice about you apart from your family!
"Uh, guys," Madison spoke, "we are late! QUICK! RUN TO CLASS!"
