︵‿୨♡୧‿︵  Alma woke up with a start, her heart pounding in her chest. The remnants of a vivid dream lingered in her mind, and she could still feel the ghostly warmth of Knox's touch. She lay in bed for a moment, trying to steady her breathing, but the images of the dream refused to fade. With a sigh, she pushed back her covers and swung her legs over the side of the bed, her feet meeting the cool floor.

She padded over to her vanity and splashed her face with cold water, hoping to wash away the lingering traces of her dream. As she looked at herself in the mirror, she couldn't help but notice the flush in her cheeks and the sparkle in her eyes. Alma shook her head, trying to dispel the thoughts that threatened to consume her. She had a full day ahead, and she couldn't afford to be distracted.

Alma carefully put on her school uniform, fastening the buttons on her blouse and smoothing down her skirt. She added a touch of her special perfume, a light floral scent that always made her feel more confident. With a final glance in the mirror, she grabbed her bag and headed to breakfast.

The dining hall was already bustling with students, and Alma quickly spotted the group of boys she usually sat with. As she approached the table, she couldn't help but notice Knox among them, his eyes lighting up when he saw her. She took a deep breath, steeling herself against the flutter in her chest, and joined them.

"Good morning, Alma," Knox greeted her with a warm smile.

"Good morning," she replied, trying to keep her voice steady. She took her seat between Knox and Neil, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. The boys were in high spirits, chatting and laughing about the latest school gossip. Alma tried to join in, but her mind kept drifting back to the dream she had about Knox.

As the conversation flowed around her, Alma found herself stealing glances at Knox. She noticed the way his hair fell into his eyes when he laughed, the way his lips curved into a smile, and the gentle way he spoke. Each little detail seemed to tug at her heart, making it harder to concentrate on anything else.

"Alma, you alright?" Neil asked, nudging her with his elbow.

"Yeah, just a little tired," she said, forcing a smile. "Had trouble sleeping last night."

Knox looked at her with concern. "Anything on your mind?"

Alma shook her head. "Nothing important. Just the usual stress."

Breakfast passed in a blur, and soon it was time for their first class. Alma and Knox walked to English together, the comfortable silence between them only serving to heighten her awareness of his presence. She couldn't help but wonder if he had any idea how she felt.

In English, Mr. Keating had them working on individual projects. Alma found herself distracted, her thoughts constantly returning to Knox. She tried to focus on her assignment, but her mind kept wandering. She could feel Knox's eyes on her occasionally, and each time she looked up, he quickly averted his gaze, a faint blush coloring his cheeks.

"Alma, could you stay for a moment after class?" Mr. Keating asked as the bell rang.

"Sure," Alma replied, gathering her things as the rest of the students filed out of the room. Knox gave her a curious glance as he left, but she just smiled at him reassuringly.

Once the room was empty, Mr. Keating leaned against his desk, studying her. "You seem distracted today, Alma. Is everything alright?"

Alma hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "I guess I'm just... dealing with some personal stuff," she said vaguely.
