CHAPTER 1

Tamad na akong mag-aral. I looked at the sky, and at that moment, I knew I would be stuck in this building for a long time. It was already 4 pm at malakas parin ang ulan.

I signed and entered the facility.

Maybe it's because today is Sunday, at wala na ring nag hintay pang maabutan ng ulan.

I went to a nearby chair beside a room and sat down.

Looking around the building, I realized I was in the engineering department. In front of me is a sliding door reflecting my image. Wearing my usual white nursing uniform, and my hair that has become messy due to the rain, para akong basang sisiw.

I was pouting as I felt the coldness of the air. The rain continued to fall when I heard a guitar strum.

The strumming blended with the sound of the rain made me realize that my situation wasn't so bad after all. After a few strums, I became certain that the sound came from the sliding door in front of me.

May tao?

The guitar strums made me forget about the annoyance of the rain, and it was not surprising how the voice, sounding like a dream, made me forget where I was at that moment. I was staring at the sliding door, which I noticed was slightly ajar, still mesmerized by the voice that enveloped me along with the sound of the rain.

The ringing of a phone stopped the voice, startling me as I realized it was actually my alarm ringing.

Shit.

I turned the alarm off habang nag-iisip kung saan ko ililibing sarili ko.

I did not look at whoever the person may be as I panicked to stand up. At anong magagawa if nagpapanic ka? Yes, you tripped.

"Careful, miss," someone whispered as I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the fall I anticipated.

Just two words.

"Oo raw sabi ng tita ko" I mumbled as I was greeted by a pair of eyes that could lure anyone who looked into them for too long.

Ang gwapo. A face that could inspire sculptures of Greek gods and provoke fights among artists worldwide.

"Tita mo?" Napataob ako galing sa mabangong yakap niya.

"I am so sorry!" I exclaimed habang inaayos ang bag kong inabot niya galing sa sahig.

"It's okay," He smiled. Totoo ang mga magagandang salita.

"You must be a nursing student?" he said while looking at my uniform.

"A-ah oo, nagpapasilong lang ako rito" I said and smiled awkwardly

I saw how his eyes stopped at my face
