Part 1

You were selected as a medic in the war, and during the war, so far, you have made a lot of friends. Eugene was your best friend out of all of them. and it was also funny how you and lieutenant winters are like siblings to each other. Your main friend group was Liebgott, Eugene, Babe/ Heffron, and you. right now, you were in a forest, right outside of bastogne. It was winter, and the snow was crazy. soldiers were getting frostbite, trench foot, etc. You guys ran out of supplies, so Eugene went to get supplies.

Y/N's pov:

"Eugene, can i come with you? please!"

Eugene: "Sorry, Y/N. i need to alone, because they need at least one medic here with them on the field."

"Ugh. finee..."

Eugene's pov:

"Sorry, Y/N. i need to alone, because they need at least one medic here with them on the field."

Y/N: "Ugh. finee..."

Eugene goes to get supplies, and he meets a girl. Her name is Renee. a few days later, eugene goes back for more supplies, and this time they talk. He suddenly feels something he wasn't used to inside his chest. Was it love? Soon enough, he kept on telling Y/N all about Renee and how he likes her. Y/N starts to have a weird feeling too. jealousy. But they were just friends, Right?..

Y/N's pov: I was talking with heffron. suddenly he brings up how eugene seems happy with renee, Y/N wanted to tell someone about her feelings.

"Heffron, can i tell you something? And promise me you won't tell anyone."

Heffron: "Sure i guess, what's it about?"

"It's about Eugene. I just wanna let it all out, and i know i can trust you, so you're the only one who's going to know. Okay?"

Heffron: "Fine, i promise i won't tell anyone. Just tell me already!"

"Okay..i like Eugene, but he likes Renee. He only sees me as his best friend. so i don't want to ruin our relationship. but i get so jealous...I really like him...all the way from the start...

Heffron: "Oh..thats- thats alot of information. But yeah, i see all of your signs on liking him. It's so obvious, i don't know how he doesn't notice. And im sure you two would look so cute together."

LATER

Y/N and heffron see Eugene eating a chocolate bar.

"where did he get that? No one has chocolate over here?.."

Heffron: "i recognized that! its from the medical center!.. Oh, then it must've been given to him by renee?"

"Oh..I mean, he is happy though?..."

Heffron: "Come on Y/N. Cheer up, i bet they won't last, and plus, you got another friend right here!"

Heffron: "Oh, and i noticed you call me heffron. why not my nickname?"

"I don't want to say babe. It sounds weird to me. your name is edward though, you like edward or heffron more?"

Heffron: "only the nuns call me edward.. I guess you'll stick with heffron."
