Tears rushed from their face as they glared into Lyla's eyes, into her soul. Lyla stood there not doing anything and watched, watched as they took Rohan further and further into the distance. Her heart raged and she fell to the ground as her eyes burned. How could she not do anything? She should have known. It was only them who could have brought this upon her.

This all might seem a bit confusing at start so let's rewind.
//
A young girl around 23 sat in the corner of a room inside a house, well you wouldn't really call it a house, more of a pile of bricks that could be knocked over by a feather. Her cherry red hair was tied in a messy bun and
her olive green eyes stared out of a window, watching the trees dance in the wind and the rain bounce of the floor. She was in brown dungarees that were frayed at the end with a cream coloured top under it. Her name was Lyla, Lyla Brown.Her father, Kieran Brown, sat on a rocking chair in the centre of the room infront of the fireplace which roared and spat. He had fallen asleep whilst reading a book and his silver beard had made its way into his cup of brandy so was now soaked.
Outside it was a day which made all other days seem great. The rain came down on top of houses, showing them no mercy. The wind made glass shake and shatter. The mist made Lyla feel on edge, like at any moment she could be grabbed. Like a hand could reach out and...
"Ah!" Lyla screamed and turned around to see her brother, Ethan, standing there. "Why did you have to sneak up on me you little brat?"
He was a small, petite little thing, around 13 years of age, with eyes unlike Lyla's or his father's but like his mother's, a frosted blue with a speckle of green around the rim. His hair a dark brown, all messy and looking like it had never seen a comb. His freckled face stared up to Lyla's cold glare.
" Sorry, didn't mean to," he said, not actually meaning it. "Can I go to the fields please?"His eyes now looked up at Lyla's in a puppy dog sort of way. Lyla smiled at this as it was pathetic and he could have done it any other way.
"No, father said we needed to make dinner, so if you want you can come in to the village to collect some onions and carrots but that's it." Lyla replied sounding very boss like.
She picked up her things and placed them on the shelf and headed to the kitchen with Ethan in hot pursuit. Lyla picked up her crochet jacket which was as green as her eyes and went to kiss her father on the forehead. Ethan put his welly boots on and walked out the house in a merry fashion and danced around in the rain. Lyla followed after him with her jacket covering her head, trying to keep her dry as possible.
"Slow down Ethan!" Lyla yelled at him but he kept skipping ahead whilst humming a happy tune. The rain was now beating down and Lyla wished she had gone to collect onions yesterday when the weather wasn't as bad. The wind howled like a wolf to the moon.
It was loud with children screaming and adults hurrying. A crack of lightning was heard in the distance and lit up the forest beyond the walls of the village. Thunder rumbled louder and louder as the storm grew closer and closer. Trees no longer swayed back and forth, they tossed and tumbled, almost snapping each time.
Lyla and Ethan had made it to the market but all stalls had closed. She rushed door to door trying to find someone who could offer some help and give her some onions and carrots.
Whilst Lyla panicked and kept on rushing door to door, Ethan sang a song known by all people of the village, The Song of The Wild Oak. He sang it in a high voice which was very off tune but people joined in from the comfort of their homes. The singing became louder and louder as they all reunited in song and as they came to an end you could no longer hear children crying but only the faint sound of the breathe of each individual.
"Now you have finished your song can you please help me find some food?!" Lyla said frantically.
The final door she knocked on, she was greeted my a friendly face. Eyes of the purest blue and a smile which was warm and welcoming. They were wearing rounded glasses which had a crack in the right lense. Their hair was a dirty blonde with streaks of a dark blue in. Their stained apron showed they had been working in the kitchen, most likely baking some sort of cake or something similar. On their feet they wore little red boots which stood out from the other dull colours they were wearing.
"You must be freezing please do come in," they said as the ushered both Lyla and Ethan in. " I'm Robin."
