"How you know I was a scorpio vani?" Amere typed responding to Avani. He chuckled a little sending the text message cause she just said out the blue that they act alike.
He never met a girl as cool as vani and in all honesty he felt like he chose the wrong friend. Avani was friends with Naila at first but she felt like the friendship was dying down because of how stuck up and demanding Naila was.
Naila had Amere hidden from her story right now because she was on a date with another boy. He knew she was in the city visiting from Georgia but he couldn't figure out why she kept making excuses not to see him. He was head over heels for this girl, he had flowers and dinner planned all she had to do was get to him.
"Aye on some real shit vani I miss lil T" He double texted Avani. It was around 8PM so he figured she was at work and would text back when she could. Avani worked at amazon overnight and Amere swore she was crazy for it.
He kept calling her crazy until she told them she was working there to be able to afford her first apartment. For months all vani talked about was getting an apartment with her bestfriend to make things easier on them both.
She even picked up overtime at amazon just to be able to afford rent and the day payment, she always made sure she had her part no matter what. Amere had nothing but respect for her hustle because it showed him that she wasn't lazy. He liked that about her, she wasn't lazy and she didn't depend on anybody for anything because she was going to get it herself.
Avani didn't even like social media she had one little spam page with 30 followers that Amere had to press the issue just for her to let him in. Seems perfect right? No. Amere still had two problems in the way of him getting Avani.
Naila was the first problem, he was still with her and although he was losing feelings part of him still saw a future with Naila. Naila was a virgin and Amere loved that about her but she cheated on him multiple times. The love started to die down the moment he met Avani and she didn't even know it.
He looked down at his phone and saw a message notification from Vani, shaking him out of his thoughts.
"I know, are you okay toolie?" Avani asked Amere. She knew his real name but insisted on calling him by his nickname because in her eyes he wasn't her boyfriend. This leads you to see the second problem.
Avani had a boyfriend but it wasn't just any random person. Her boyfriend was Kamiri, better known in the streets and everywhere else as lefteye.
Avani and Kamiri had been talking for about a year before she knew Toolie. For some reason Vani was head over heels for Kamiri. In her eyes he could do no wrong and she remained loyal to her boo even if he went days without talking to her.
In her eyes they had a special attachment to each other and let Toolie tell it, lefteye felt the same way.

6 months before
Avani was at Shake Shack working, getting ready to get off in few hours when she had a missed called from "My boo". She attempted to call him back when she got sent straight to voicemail so she texted him asked did he mean to call.
She exited out of their messages before going to instagram and seeing he sent her a disappearing video.
Even though she had no service, she managed to open the video and seen a bloody leg with doctors working on it.
"What happened" is the only thing she could bring herself to text back. Before Avani started talking to Kamiri he sort of chased her. He would respond heart eyes to everything she posted and would try to make conversation but she kept it short. When Avani met Kamiri she had no idea who he was or the shit he was into.
Let's just say he had beef all over the damn city. Avani never knew why, in her eyes he was cool as fuck.
Flashback Over
That day changed everything for Avani and Kamiri. She went to the hospital and laid in his hospital bed with him and in her eyes this was perfect, minus the gunshot wound of course.
For her she thought this was her ending.
Amere heard this story not only from Avani but from Kamiri too. He thought they were never going to breakup because the way they talked about each other it seemed that way. Amere was more shocked to hear it coming from one of his niggas because the girl was a virgin.
From his understanding they had only kissed and she wouldn't even kiss him until they were talking to about a year. Amere couldn't really talk shit because he was in the same position, in love with someone he had never even met in person.
Kamiri played his cards the wrong way and started being weird towards Avani. She begged Toolie to ask him why he all of a sudden didn't want to talk to her but in the utmost honesty Toolie didn't want to. He knew she deserved better, she shouldn't have been with someone who would go days without talking to her anyway.
Amere thought she would never get over lefteye because for literal months she cried to him everyday begging him to talk to Kamiri but he told her he wanted to "stay out of their relationship" which was only half of the truth.
Amere wanted Avani to himself but he knew he wanted to do right by her if ever given the shot. He didn't want to cheat, he didn't want it to be a toxic situation, and he didn't want to lose their bond either. Amere knew if he wanted to be with her, he had to grow up.
Avani was Toolie's best friend so she knew everything about him being a cheater, girls burning him, and his toxic situations.
He felt like he chose the wrong friend but he didn't want to lose vani to some feelings so he shook em off.
He shook Naila off too. He found out she was practically cheating on him the either time, even with his cousin.
By this time the feelings he had for her had already started to fade but for him that was the icing in the cake he was done.
Amere was done with Naila and he couldn't have Avani so he went elsewhere. He went to Shay.
