I woke up too early for my liking, all because my roommate insisted on setting alarms at 7am even on Satudays.
I groaned and threw my pillow over my head but after i heard the door shut as they left for breakfast i knew i wasn't getting back to sleep any time soon.
Begrudgingly, i got up and made my way to the bathroom.
Staring at the mirror i looked at my messy brown hair and my general disheveled appearance. I probably stood there for a good 5-10 minutes, not wanting to get ready this early.
After i showered, i styled my hair and made sure to do my skincare before returning to my room and pulling out whatever clothes i could find, which today seemed to be an oversized knitted jumper and black jeans. I grabbed my shoes and went out the door, making my way past the common room where the only people awake were either seniors studying for todays exams or seniors from the night before who fell asleep downstairs.
I got to the Dining Hall and found Hades sat eating so i joined him.
"Hey, exams today i assume?" I said as i sat down, grabbing some toast from the middle.
He sighed, clearly having hardly slept. "yup, i have an exams for potions which will take up most the day, and then my old man wants me to see him, so don't be surprised if this is all you see of me today kid."
I nodded, not wanting to speak with my mouth full, and we continued to eat in silence.
After around 20 minutes, i felt someone rustle my hair and then saw Maleficent plant a kiss on Hades cheek as she say down beside him.
"Morning love, and morning to you Morgie, you are never awake so early."
I waved to her as the couple started talking about their exams for today. Turned out Maleficent only had her History exam today, but was meeting her new friend Cruella later on to study for one of their practical exams.
As i finished my food and got up to leave, Maleficent stopped me. "Oh by the way Morgie, Hook wanted me to let you know that he needs to talk to you later, you'll probably find him by the fountain if he isn't still with that new girl, Chrissy."
I nodded and left quickly, not wanting them to see my grimace at the thought of Hook hanging out with the new girl.
She'd only arrived at Merlin Academy a month ago but immediately wormed her way into Hooks life and was constantly flirting with him any time she was near, and of course, Hook being Hook, flirted back. Whether the two had something going on, i didn't know, but why should i care? We're only friends after all.

I decided to spend my morning in the woods nearby the school. I knew my way around it and the deeper i went the more familiar it became from growing up around the area with my mother.
I spent the entire morning wandering the woods and finding plants i remembered Uliana saying she was looking for, for her potions i presume, and made it back to the school grounds just in time to see Uliana before her exam and give her the ingredients i found.
A first year came running up to me to let me know Hook was waiting on me by the fountain, so i thanked them and headed that way, praying that Hook would be alone.

I got to the fountain and by some gods luck, it was just him. He beckoned me over and gestured for me to take a seat next to him.
We sat in silence for a minute before he spoke up.
"So- that dance is coming up soon." He began, absentmindedly throwing small stones into the fountain as he talked. "Any plans for it?"
To be honest- i hadn't even thought about the dance. I knew Hades and Maleficent would be going, but that wad the only time i'd heard our group talk about it, so i assumed we were missing it to cause mayhem.
"honestly? no- i wasn't even planning on going- i mean, its just an excuse for the good kids to get used to the fame they'll have soon right? Whats in it for us?"
Hook laughed at that, his nice deep laugh that always made my heart jump. "Couldn't have said it any better darlin', except i think we should go- maybe it'll be fun."
"Oh- like if we cause mayhem there?" I grinned. I always loved it when Hook came up with plans, they were always so far fetched. "Maybe we could spike the drinks with a potion Uliana makes! Or-or maybe we mess with some of their outfits? Make them ugly colours and embarrass them?"
Hook laughed again, but it felt more tense this time. "Well, as much fun as that sounds, maybe we just go to- enjoy ourselves? Any girl here would be thrilled to go with you, and we know Hades and Mali are going together, no clue what Uli plans to do but thats on her, and well- i can go with Chrissy."
I paused then. Of course, why didn't i realise she'd ask him to go? "Oh hah, i assume she asked you today then?"
He looked at me quizzically, "no actually, i can be a gentleman thank you very much. I asked her."
"Oh right, of course." I tried so hard not to sound disappointed, but i don't think i hid it very well.
He didn't say anything when i made an excuse to leave, and as i was walking back to my room i passed Chrissy of all people.
She waved to me and i wasn't going to acknowledge her, but she ran up to Hook with a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and i noticed she was wearing his jacket. I then decided to run back to my room, just for exercise of course.

I slammed the door behind me and thanked the gods my roommate wasn't in as i slid to a sitting position and pulled my knees to my chest.
I mean- we weren't even a thing, Hook isn't even gay, why would he ever kiss me? I really was naïve to think Hook would go with anybody except her.
