The early morning light spilled through the balcony windows in streams of gold and rose across the bedroom scene. Sunlight speckled the floor and danced along the walls, awaking the bundles of literature and decor strung across the room. There were no birds, no mourning feathers cooing at the window— nor bugs or crickets from insect dwellers. There wasn't any cerulean blue sky or round cream clouds to occupy the outside land; instead, only a slight dull with refracted light glowed the Camelot land.

Groggily, you awoke. Everything ached; your head throbbed. Possibly it was the tight heels and attire you donned almost all day the previous morning. Maybe it was the exhaustion from such mental and internal turmoils that fatigued you until you could hardly stand. But nonetheless, you couldn't sleep. Tossing and turning, you had bad dreams that could be attributed to the unfamiliar environment— a natural human instinct to be on edge. Or maybe, it was the unfamiliar figure who lay off throughout the night. You assumed he was just as tired as you were, but it didn't ease your thoughts from wandering. The only solace you sought was when a small warm body curled up to you throughout the night. Cath snuggled into your arms and purred at a gentle frequency that permitted you to get some sleep. Oh, and the fact you found yourself in his embrace during the night.

Arthur had awakened due to your unrest in the middle of the night. Unconsciously, he brought you into his arms and the curve of his body. And in your drowsy stupor, you let him— you allowed him. His heart beat steadily, in groups of gentle tones with quiet rests. It shouldn't have lulled you. But it did. And within no time, you were fast asleep. A different kind of slumber overtook your consciousness— you felt... safe. Nothing could hurt you when such a caring presence embraced you in a cocoon of soft love. And for now, it was okay. His skin was soft; he was warm. He enveloped you with his arms around your waist before nudging you to rest on his arm when he cradled your head against his chest. The blankets draped off you two in bunches of soft downy; his and your shoulders were exposed to the night air, but no chill disturbed you— for his warm body kept you comfortable. Throughout the night, you would stir. But he followed, even if his arm was starting to fall asleep.

In the morning, you were still wrapped in the same position, only now more relaxed. The blankets fell off his torso and sat low on his hips; the faint sunlight filtered in and cast a soft glow across his complexion. You didn't urge your thoughts to wander... but the remnants of sleep enticed you to trial down the dip and curve of his muscles— specifically on the rise and fall of his chest while he breathed. You were still tucked into his side only he laxly faced away. You studied his features: the curve of his jaw, the bridge of his nose, and his round lips. The sun illuminated the glow that resided within him— in his heart.

You stirred and stretched before shifting your nightgown down from the movement. The silk was oddly cold, but nothing curling into his body couldn't help. This was nice, he was like your own personal fire. It was a silly thought, but you were inclined to believe he would like the dependence. Your mind was in such a relaxed state that you merely processed over all thoughts in simple tolerance. A pair of eyes fell upon him, along with a small... smile— your smile. He awoke.

"Good morning, my queen..." He murmured in a sigh when rolling over. It was when he settled facing you did he blink awake. "Did you sleep well?" His voice was so hoarse and soft, two tones that made you lean further into his body— something that didn't go unnoticed by him. He smiled and brushed strands of hair from your temples. The action drew you to close your eyes and rest in the crook of his neck.
