EIGHT

Today was the day I could finally come home. I wanted it to be a surprise so I didn't tell anyone. My wrists were free of those metal shackles and I was able to walk home, free as a bird. I felt strong and ready for my new endeavour in fighting. More importantly I was ready to see my woman and my Mai.

I exited the jail and made the walk to my home. The sun was bright and hot. I walked the familiar path all the way to my front porch. I walked through the front door. "Mai?" I yelled inside the house. No answer. I looked around the kitchen to see a note on the table.

'Maria,

If you come out of the shower and I am not here. Do not be alarmed, I am at the market. I will see if they have more colors of bracelets for us.'

I laughed in response. Matching bracelets, huh. I immediately smirked to myself. Shower, you say?

I quietly snuck up the stairs. I could hear the shower running. Maria hummed softly to herself. I walked into the bathroom to see her silhouette form inside the curtain. Her thin, womanly figure light swayed as she adjusted her weight from one leg to the other. I sneakily pulled my clothes off and pulled back the curtain slightly. Her back was facing me, exposing her bare bottom. I slowly stepped into the small shower. She still hadn't noticed me. I slowly reached my hands forward and hugged her from behind. She jumped and gasped.

"It was so worth the wait." I added. I peeled my head off of her chest and looked to her. Her eyes studied my face. "What did I do?" I asked.

She looked at me confused.

"What did I do to deserve you?"

Her cheeks turned a light pink color. "You're a good man, Alex. You deserve the world."

I smiled at her. "Maria, you are my world."
