The campus was abuzz with excitement as word spread about Zhou Shiyu's grand plan to confess her love to Wangyi. Whispers and rumors filled the air, with students eagerly anticipating the spectacle that was about to unfold.

Wangyi, on the other hand, was growing increasingly uncomfortable with the unwanted attention. Despite her popularity and natural charisma, she preferred to maintain a certain level of distance and privacy. The constant pursuit by Zhou Shiyu had already left her feeling embarrassed and overwhelmed, and she dreaded the thought of a public display of affection.

As the day of the confession arrived, Wangyi's friends tried their best to warn her about the impending situation. "Wangyi, you need to be careful. Zhou Shiyu is really serious about this. You might want to reconsider how you handle it," one of them cautioned.

Wangyi sighed, running a hand through her short, dark hair. "I know, I know. But I've already made it clear that I'm not interested. I don't want to hurt her feelings, but I can't encourage this kind of behavior either."

Her friends exchanged worried glances, knowing Wangyi's kind-hearted nature often led her to avoid confrontation. "Just... be prepared, okay? Zhou Shiyu seems determined, and you might not be able to get out of this one so easily."

Wangyi nodded, her lips pressed into a thin line. She couldn't shake the feeling of dread building in the pit of her stomach, but she was determined to handle the situation with as much grace as possible.

As the appointed time for the confession arrived, Wangyi made her way to the main campus courtyard, where a sizable crowd had already gathered. To her surprise, the area had been transformed into an elaborate stage, complete with a grand piano, strings of fairy lights, and a banner that read, "Wangyi, will you be my girlfriend?"

Zhou Shiyu stood in the center of the courtyard, her eyes scanning the crowd until they landed on Wangyi. A radiant smile spread across her face, and she waved excitedly, beckoning Wangyi to join her.

Wangyi hesitated, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel the eyes of the entire student body upon her, and the weight of the situation began to feel overwhelming. Nonetheless, she took a deep breath and stepped forward, knowing she couldn't avoid the confrontation any longer.

As Wangyi approached the makeshift stage, Zhou Shiyu rushed to her side, taking her hands in her own. "Wangyi, I'm so glad you're here. I've been waiting for this moment for so long," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.

Wangyi could feel the tension in the air, and she gently pulled her hands away, taking a step back. "Zhou Shiyu, I... I don't know what to say. This is all a bit much, don't you think?"

Zhou Shiyu's face fell, but her determination never wavered. "I know it's a lot, but I couldn't hold back any longer. Wangyi, you're the most amazing person I've ever met, and I've fallen completely in love with you. Please, give me a chance. I promise I'll make you the happiest person in the world."

The crowd erupted in a chorus of "Aww's" and "Ooh's," clearly captivated by the romantic display. Wangyi felt the heat rise to her cheeks, her discomfort growing with every passing second.

"Zhou Shiyu, I'm flattered, but I've already told you that I'm not interested in a relationship. This... this is just too much. I can't do this," Wangyi said, her voice raised slightly to be heard over the crowd.

Zhou Shiyu's expression shifted from hopeful to devastated. "But Wangyi, I thought you might feel the same way. I put so much effort into this, and I just want a chance to show you how much you mean to me."

Wangyi shook her head, her resolve hardening. "I'm sorry, but I can't. This isn't the way I want to be pursued. Please, Zhou Shiyu, stop this and leave me alone."

The crowd fell silent, the tension palpable. Zhou Shiyu's face crumpled, and Wangyi could see the tears welling up in her eyes. "Wangyi, I... I don't know what to say. I just wanted you to see how much you mean to me. I guess I was wrong."

With that, Zhou Shiyu turned and fled the scene, leaving Wangyi standing alone on the stage, the weight of the situation painfully apparent. The crowd murmured in surprise and disappointment, some even casting judgmental glances in Wangyi's direction.

Wangyi felt her heart sink, the guilt and embarrassment washing over her. She hadn't meant to hurt Zhou Shiyu, but the public spectacle had been too much to handle. Quickly, she made her way off the stage, hoping to escape the scrutiny of the onlookers.

As Wangyi walked back to her dorm, her mind raced with conflicting emotions. She couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy for Zhou Shiyu, whose grand gesture had been so unceremoniously rejected. At the same time, she couldn't shake the overwhelming sense of discomfort and frustration that had consumed her during the confrontation.

Reaching her room, Wangyi collapsed onto her bed, burying her face in her hands. She knew that the fallout from this incident would be unavoidable, and she dreaded the thought of facing her peers and the inevitable gossip that would follow. She's trying to shut down her own mind and decided to end the day.
