Ren Chisaki Gad always been different to his father in a way. He wasn't even supposed to be born. After his father had finished school he'd took a fancy to a young lady in a bar and they were quick enough to get to bed together, or so his father had told him. Kai wasn't even going to take his son on until he found out his quirk was the same as his; a few weeks after his quirk had shown up, when he was 4 years old he'd never seen his mother again. He still remembered her, she was sweet and loving and kind, pretty much the opposite of his father. His mother always wore the same sweet citrus perfume, he still remembered the scent of it to this day.
So of-course, by the time Ren was 11 He'd pretty much perfected ever aspect of his quirk, via his father; and he was glad his father never really over worked him through his quirk training- Kai ignored him most of the time, or treated him as if he was a henchman- but there were rare father-son moments between them- and he was thankful for every last one.
Right now Ren Sat peacefully in his bedroom, it was early in the morning.
He always got up early to read because it was peaceful, no one bothered him at 5 in the morning.
He folded the page over in the top corner, taking a mental note of the number just incase before getting up and putting the novel on his bed side, stretching.
It was Monday today, meaning his father would be doing horrid stuff to eri.
He felt sorry for the small girl, and his stomach turned every time he seen the child as she always had a fearful expression, it made him want to cry, but he never cried.
Boys don't cry, after all.
Ren yawned and pulled on his clothes before heading out the room, messing his hand through his hair. He hoped he wouldn't be too harsh ok Eri.
He'd started again on her last week, destroying her fragile body with his quirk and recreating her again. He sighed. He didn't even understand why his old man was doing that to the kid. I mean he did, but it was stupid.
'Quirks are sick, curses to the world'
yeah right, quirks saved us. The crime rates went up a first when quirks first started, yeah, but when heroes rose, crime rates fell-
and one hero he really admired was All Might. He saved loads of people, no matter the cost.
That was something he'd always wanted to do, in a way. Save people, no matter the cost. But he couldn't do that.
Wrong family, wrong quirk.
There's no way he'd be a hero when his dad was such an ass. He loved his old man- of course he did. It was his dad after all- but it didn't mean he agreed with anything his dad did.
Ren walked down the lengthy corridors of the shie Hassaikai's base, lazily, until the door infront of him swung open and a mass of blue came running out of it.
Ren paused, freezing slightly.
The little girl ran through the hallway, running as fast as she could, she didn't even dare to look at him. She was breathing heavily and loudly, tears coming down her face, she quickly passed him, and a few seconds later his father came through the same door she'd came from, walking after Eri, he looked annoyed and pissed off. Ren turned to watch the child leave before looking back at Kai.
"Your just going to stand there? You could've grabbed her while she came past." Kai said coldly.
Ren didn't say anything for a moment.
"What's going on?" He finally said
"The little brats running, obviously." He said before walking after Eri again, not putting another word in.
Ren watched him leave, confusion spread across his face.
What the hell had just happened?
