I saw her behind Edward , I was shocked to see her , I was gonna say "impossible" . He interrupted me by stepping assertively into my line of sight, he leaned against the armrests with a calculated nonchalance, his hands gripping them for support. His demeanor shifted from casual to accusatory in an instant as he confronted me.

"So, you're pretending not to know her, Sylvia?" His words cut through the air with a mixture of disbelief and certainty, leaving me stunned by the implication of his accusation.

The weight of his statement bore down on me, challenging the reality I had assumed. His question hung in the air, demanding a response that I struggled to formulate. He was waiting for a response but silence was the only answer left in the room .

I sat in my living room, reclining with a newspaper in hand, still stewing over Sylvia's recent behavior. How could she not trust me? The thought gnawed at me, churning over and over in my mind. For the past two months, I had been silently seething, refusing to speak to her until she agreed to marry me. Enough was enough, I decided. If she could be so stubborn as to not apologize, then I could match her obstinacy with my own. I would ignore her until she relented.Lost in these ruminations,

I hardly noticed when Sylvia entered the room with a tray of tea, placing it gently on the table beside me. Her presence interrupted my thoughts, but I remained steadfast in my resolve not to engage.

"Listen, I'm sorry... Please?" Her voice broke the silence, filled with a pleading tone.

I glanced up to meet her gaze, but said nothing in response. Instead, I picked up the cup of tea she had prepared and took a sip. It was delicious, as always. Despite my anger, I couldn't deny her talent for making the perfect cup of tea.

"Um, Ed, I need to go somewhere. Can you please get ready quickly and drop me off?" Her words hung in the air, her eyes searching mine for any sign of forgiveness.

"Uh... Okay," I muttered, taking another sip of tea. She nodded gratefully and began tidying up around the house while I turned to my computer to pay bills, maintaining a deliberate distance between us.
