A Nightmare

Chapter 1

Neo's pov (Midnight's mum)
"My wife, where are you going" my husband asked striding quickly to reach my side wearing his crown proudly.
"Just out for a stroll darling and before you ask no rogue Scare is going to attack our unborn dragonling, they're in the hatchery." I responded calmly.
"When can I finally see our egg?" He asked for the fiftieth time.
"She's fragile."
"That's what you said months ago."
"Anyway I'm going to go for a stroll."
"Alright babe, just remember," his spiked tail curled around my back and pulled me closer speaking into my ear. "Be back before curfew or you'll regret it."
I gulped as he drew away.
"Y-yes babe." I flew away as fast as possible without being to suspicious.

Blaze was waiting for me near where all the borders intersect. He was the ruler of the Stardusts or dreamers as some called them.
"Hey! I was worried for you! Are you okay?"Blaze ran up to me as I landed.
"I'm fine babe. I'm worried about our egg though."
"Why?! Is our unborn dragonling okay?!?!" He's such a good dad.
"No but the king, Leo keeps wanting to see the egg and the egg is deep purple with golden flecks. He'll know the dragonling isn't actually his heir."
He pressed his forehead to mine.
"I wish you the best of luck my love." His finned tail wrapped around mine. "Why are you dating him again?"
"Arranged marriage, it's been planned since our mothers saw us together when we were only dragonlings."
"But he abuses you."
"I know but there's nothing I can do he's the current king. Things will get better when out dragonling is born hopefully." I put on a smile but there was only sadness in my voice.
"Blaze! Hun it's our anniversary I want to go to that knew diner and it will shut soon." Blaze's wife, Nela, called flying high in the sky.
"I'll go and leave you love bird's alone~" I teased.
"Shut up, I love you stay safe." I smiled and flew away.

When I got back Leo was waiting for me and I knew something was wrong.
"Babe?" He looked furious making me crouch low to the ground in fear as his tail lashed in anger.
"You cheated on me!" He snapped as he smacked the point of his tail against me cheek.
"Ah!" I clutched the cut on me cheek.
"I saw your egg it had gold flecks meaning it's not mine! Let alone another nightmare," his voice dropped to a scary whisper. "So tell me which Stardust did you cheat on me with?"
I looked up at him worried my mouth hanging slightly open.
"The egg's hatching!!" Our maid and one of my closest friends, Sarah, she was the one who was helping me keep my eggs colouration a secret but Leo must of barged into the hatchery to see the egg luckily she protected them. She had bursted into our room. I took one more glance before quickly running to the hatchery with Sarah.
"I'm sorry my queen he burst into the hatchery I didn't have time to hide them but I protected them."
"I told you Sarah you can just call me by my name but thank you are ok?"
"I'm fine, Neo." We reach the hatchery and from the moment I see my baby girl I love her though Leo wasn't to pleased.
