Amazed Sayyid stared at the table for the dinner party tonight he had arranged. It was fit for royalty gala event with gold candlestick holders, white with gold setting with crystal gold rimmed glasses, silver cutlery all set upon pristine white linen tablecloths.
"Sara did all this by herself?" he asked stunned.
Karen nodded. "I just don't understand why you needed me when you already have the perfect hostess."
He frowned. "Sara complicates things."
"That's what happens when you don't marry for love," she pointed out. Even a blind man could see Sara was madly in love with her boss. Why were men so blind and driven by lust. He turned away ignoring her as usual to hunted down Sara to find her hidden away in her bedroom wearing trakkies and a sloppy Joe looking settled in for the night. She had finished her part. Caterers were seeing to the food.
"Surely you're not going to dinner dressed like that, sweetheart?" he asked softly, startling her from the book she was reading.
She blinked. "Sorry? I didn't realise I was invited."
"Well, you are now."
"Sayyid," she sighed. "Karen is here. There isn't enough seating and you won't send her away when she just flew in from England," she growled before he said it. "I'm fine and will check up on things later to see if there are any problems that need to be seen to. So just relax and enjoy yourself. Your clothes are laid out on the bed. I took out something more suitable then your business suits. Their wives will be there as well and won't want to be bored with business."
"That was why Karen was invited and it's all about business, sweetheart," he pointed out. She nodded. Of course it was. She would never be good enough. He went to sit town on the bed at her side leaning over her on his hand to brush fallen hair from her face with the other. "How can I explain you?"
"I'm just your housekeeper, I get it." She didn't look at him that said it all. He brushed hair back over her shoulder.
"Sweetheart, you're more than that. Look what you do for me. More than I ever expected just going by the table setting." She twisted around to face him though still caught against his arm.
"Got the idea off the Internet. I hope it wasn't too much. Karen's reaction was like, really? Expression not words. She was speechless. I did, didn't I?"
He smiled. "My guests will be very impressed as I am. Next time," he promised, leaning down to kiss her fully on the lips as a reward. Only meant to be a brief one but once he touched her soft and supple lips he lingered teasing her softly with his lips, lowering himself over her body to feel her under him so soft and yielding as arms went around his neck as she opened to him dipping in to taste her honey sweetness. Groaning, he eased away because it always ended up wanting her in his bed. "I better get ready," he whispered against her lips. "I would be proud to have you at my side, sweetheart, don't ever doubt that, it's just complicated."
"I know it is Sayyid honey," she sighed with regret. "Make sure you keep those button done up," she warned as he stood to smile.
"I'll leave that for later where you can undress me this time," with a smirk he walked out before he was shot down in flames. Instead Sara smiled because she would like that, probably too much.
As it turned out she made the dinner after all, not as a guest as a waitress. She had worked in cafes and take away, until she could get her foot in the door to better herself. One girl down, she found suitable clothing, all black with a white shirt. Hair back in a ponytail to work behind the scenes or so she had thought to be handed a plate.
