courtney slipped her phone back into her pocket after reading hermiones warning. she was sitting on the fireplace, surrounded by people she couldn't see through. if theodore was really looking for her it wouldn't be hard. but courtney was not about to sit there waiting for him.

"courtney!" a man yelled. courtney recognized it and immediately knew he found her. courtney didn't turn around, just set her drink down and made a beeline for the door leading out of the common room.

seconds after the door shut behind courtney, it was reopened and she could only guess it was theodore. "you're really playing hard to get," theodore said to her.

"thought you weren't going to talk to me for 24 hours," courtney said, turning around.

"i believe i said texting, not talking," theodore smirked.

courtney rolled her eyes and asked "where's daphne tonight."

"right there," theodore pointed. courtney followed where his finger was pointing down a flight of stairs. at the bottom of the flight, courtney saw daphne holding hands with a boy while running away.

"wow," courtney said. "that sucks. karma i guess."

"courtney," theodore started, dropping his smirk. "i really am sorry, for everything i did. even if you don't believe it."

"i believe you. anyone should be sorry for doing what you did. doesn't mean i need to forgive you." courtney said to him.

"thats understandable. i completely understand that," theodore nodded. "can we at least try to get back to our dynamic from before everything happened?"

"no promises," courtney said as she slid by him back into the common room. theodore didn't know the password so he was stuck out there
