Chapter 7- I know Who You Are

One month later*
*morning*
Location- Aydin's family Villa
Emilia's room*

Emilia's Pov:

I confined myself in my house for about a month now. Everyone thought it was to recover properly from my injury but that wasn't the case. I stayed inside my house for a whole month because it's the safest place from Aiden. I knew he was looking for me endlessly, not for an explanation, but simply to just kill me. The thing I mainly thought about everyday that whole month was if he knew I was Emilia or he just thinks I'm Elyse and working for the Aydin's. I closed my eyes to drown in my thoughts but a knock on my door interrupted me. I looked over at the door and Violet made her way inside. Violet climbed into my bed beside me and laid on her back looking at the ceiling.

Violet: I know what you're doing.

Emilia: Violet I'm scared.

Violet: I get it but you can stay here forever. You erased Elyse so he doesn't have any chance of finding you. Anyways there's going to be another one of those gatherings tonight and you already know your parents are going to want you to attend.

Emilia: I'll just tell them I'm not feeling well.

Violet: I'm going to personally drag you out of this house to that gathering so just make it easier for yourself and say you'll come.

Emilia: Fine.

Location- Aiden's penthouse

Aiden's Pov:

A month has passed now and I'm still searching for Elyse. I know I told Leos that I wouldn't let my personal feelings get in the way when it comes to her but I lied. She's the only woman I've ever loved and I think about her every day wondering why she betrayed and lied to me. I was also wondering if her feelings towards me were fake since it's obvious she clearly knew I was lying about who I was on our first date. I know I have to kill her because that's the kind of heartless fucker I should be but I deserve answers to my questions first. I thought about the gathering tonight and figured that the Aydin's are obviously going to be there so there might be a small chance that Elyse will also be with them.

*in the night *
Location- Everates Hall

Emilia's Pov:

I arrived at the gathering wearing a long black dress. When inside, my parents went to do their usual socializing so I decided to stay low and stick with Violet. As usual all she did was mostly drink and talk to attractive men and I was just there beside her. At some point I decided to go to the bathroom to freshen up.

Aiden's Pov:

I was at the gathering drinking whiskey while talking business with Leos and some of my other allies when the Aydin's arrived. I scanned every single one of them with my eyes searching for Elyse but I didn't see her. Frederick and his wife went their own way leaving his daughter and this other girl. I focused my eyes on Frederick's daughter and watched her every move. I only now realized that she has similar features to Elyse due to our first encounter being short. I noticed that she and Elyse were the same height, had the same facial and body structure and the way she smiled was similar. My heart was racing as I came to the conclusion that Frederick's daughter was mostly likely Elyse. I saw her leave her friend and headed to the direction of the bathroom so I quickly asked Leos for her name then followed her.

Emilia's Pov:

After I finished doing my business in the bathroom, I came out and was making my way back to the main room. It seemed like this part of the building was completely empty because there was only the sound of my heels clanking as I walked the halls. When I turned a corner I was suddenly pinned to the wall by someone. It was Aiden and he was pointing a gun to my head. My eyes widened in shock but I quickly calmed myself.

Emilia: Hello to you too Mr. Vincent. Is this how you always greet women, by pinning them to a wall with a gun to their head?

Aiden: Cut the crap Emilia.

Emilia: Well at least you have the decency of knowing my name.

Aiden: Take out your contacts.

Emilia: Are you sick in the head or something,  what contacts?

Aiden: Emilia take the fucking contacts out of your eyes right now or I swear to God I'll shoot you dead right here!

I tired to be bold and play it off but it seems like he figured it out. He removed the safety off the gun pointed at my head and the serious look on his face told me he really wasn't joking. I accepted my defeat and took out my brown contacts revealing my green eyes to him.

Aiden's Pov:

When she removed her contacts and looked into my eyes, it was like my world stopped. The woman I spent so much time with and fell in love with was my enemy. I was having a glimpse of hope at the back of my mind that she wouldn't actually be Elyse but it was shattered.

Aiden: Why did you continue with our relationship when you clearly knew I was your enemy?

Emilia: Because you were amusing. Having the Capo of the Vincent family be all lovestruck by me was quite cute.

Aiden: I could kill you right now and I actually have more of a reason to.

Emilia: Oh Aiden you aren't going to kill me. You're in love with Elyse and I'm her.

I clenched my jaw as she said those words. She was right, I simply couldn't bring myself to kill her. She's actually Emilia whom I despise but she's also Elyse whom I deeply love. She loosened  herself from my grip, took one last look at me then left. I just stood there with the gun in my hand before Leos came to find me. I mentioned nothing about what happened to him.

*later that night*
Location- Aydin's family Villa
*Emilia's room

Emilia's Pov:

I told Violet about everything that happened when I left for the bathroom at the gathering. I cried in her ams while she was consoling me for what seemed like forever.
