Akira doubted right before she answered the call from a friend of hers in Tokyo. She actually lived there for a few months, and even attended the same school as the person displayed on her phone's screen.
"Hello?" She said through her phone's speakers, catching Ushijima's attention as he glanced down at her.
"Oh, Akira-chan~ It's been a while since I've heard your voice~!"
The sound of his voice made her grimace, "Your sweet voice makes me want to puke, just tell me why you called and be done with it. I'm with... someone..." she mumbled the last part, stealing a peek at the tall boy whose eyes was already on her, making her flinch.
"Someone? You actually met someone better than me?"
Mishima can imagine that cocky smirk forming on Kuroo's lips as she heard him say that. It irritated her, making her come up with a good sass, "Everyone's better than you." she hissed, venom on her words.
Kuroo placed a hand on his chest even though he knows she can't see him. "That actually hurts, Akira." He cried comically, but the girl can sense humor on his town.
She chucked lightly, making sure the other line couldn't hear it. "You dork; just tell me what you want from me," She stated, grinning. It made Wakatoshi blink in wonder.
'I wonder who she is talking to.'
"Ha? This Saturday? Well, no. Eh?! You're here?! In Miyagi!? Oh, a practice match. I see, well sure. Alright, I'll see you. Yeah." Akira kept talking on her phone. "There's no 'I love you' for you, idiot!!" she shouted.
'I love you...?' the boy wondered. 'Is that her boyfriend?'
Ushijima didn't know why, but he kept pondering about the person Mishima might be talking to. It actually bothered him, but of course his stoic face didn't show that, nor did he let her notice it.
The call ended with him focusing ahead, no longer staring at the girl beside him. "Ah, sorry about that Ushiwaka-chan---" Akira scratched the back of her head before Ushijima cut her off by saying this was his stop.
"My house is this way." He stated, pointing at the left route. Mishima blinked, cocking her eyebrow. 'Is it?' she thought the lad's house was just a street from hers.
Obstinately, as he was about to walk away, Akira grabbed his arm, stopping him from leaving. "Hold on, Ushiwaka-chan. wasn't your house's street next to mine? That's not the way to your house." She says, tightening her grip on his jersey.
Wakatoshi frowned, "I have somewhere to go to. You go ahead."
'So he lied to me...' Mishima pouted. "Then, I'll go with you!" she volunteered, clinging onto his arm.
"You don't need to. I can go on my own." He brushed her hands off. 'Besides, you'll want to talk to your boyfriend... But this idiot is too stupid to have a boyfriend though...' he noted mentally.
Or so he thought. He actually said it out loud, and Akira glared at him.
"Who are you calling a stupid idiot?!" she hollered at him, having a vein popped out of anger.
"Well, see you..." Ushijima made his escape, running away from her. Although she can catch up with him, Akira chose to not chase after him. After all, a thought crossed her mind that she might've annoyed him once more.
She headed back to her house, trying her best to keep him off her mind. We all know who 'he' is. That bastard Kuro who likes to flirt with her a lot. A lot. And also earned him a lot of punches. She was classmates with him during her stay in Tokyo, and she was not pleased the whole time she resided in the same classroom as him.
