Audrey's POV
Audrey couldn't believe her. She couldn't believe that Mal got her happy ending, the one Audrey deserved. It wasn't fair she took Ben and now she took Audrey's rightful place as his queen. Her fists clenched as she watched them laughing happily together. Her and Ben laughed together once like that, he looked at her with those loving hazel eyes or so she thought maybe he never truly did love her but she couldn't accept that. Mal was the one who ruined their relationship.
Audrey stalked towards Mal and firmly grabbed her wrist so she would look at her as she said, "Congratulations. You won him fair and square. Oh, wait, no, you didn't. You spelled Ben to destroy all of Auradon. Touching story for the grandkids."
Mal looked over at Ben as he excitedly said, "Okay, let's do this." To the other villain kids.
She turned back to Audrey, "Speaking of kids, we have some kids waiting on us, so...if you'll excuse me." Mal said, politely.
As she and the rest of the villain kids as well as Ben walked to the limo, a guard congratulated her. "Congratulations, Lady Mal."
She felt disgusted and hurt. She was still so angry over Mal. In the beginning she thought she was fine she had Chad but then she realized just what she lost and how much she missed Ben or what she had with him. Now because of Mal no one treats her seriously, she lost Ben, and her complete right in becoming the next queen of Auradon. Whenever she saw them on television she couldn't help but feel outraged. Her parents would always give her confused looks whenever she did that. Her dad would always ask, "What wrong princess?"
"Just them! They're awful!"
"I'm sure they aren't, perhaps give them a second chance?" said her mother thoughtfully. She always admired her kindness, her infinite love but in that moment it was the last thing she wanted to hear. She always ended up leaving the room to find solace in her own bedroom she usually would draw which usually calmed Audrey. Her parents really did try to console her but they couldn't get her to change her mind. In the end it was fruitless and they always ended up giving her a disappointed look.
She focused back on the present wanting to forget about those times.
Audrey turned away quickly, hurt evident in her eyes as she watched the guard congratulate her. Anger boiled inside of her, 'how dare they congratulate her that should be me!' Audrey knew she had to do something, anything to make her pay for what she took. She knew it wasn't very heroic to be thinking this way but her emotions were high and her pain was enormous. They say with time the pain goes away that it gets better. They were wrong. She couldn't watch Ben and Mal anymore without thinking about what could have been if she had just done something a little different or if Mal hadn't spelled her boyfriend or if she hadn't kissed Chad at the Turney game or if Mal hadn't defied her mom or "chosen good". Audrey thought it was bogus, Mal couldn't be good or kind not without an altair motive because of her mom. It was like everyone forgot who Mal's mom was! Maleficent it's in her blood to be evil, she couldn't be good if she took Ben from her or the crown. She thought at first Mal had turned over a new leaf but after a while she saw what Mal was. A villain just like mother.
Audrey watched out of the corner of her eye as the limo drove towards the isle of the lost. She turned her attention to the VK's being shown on the big screen with a disgusted expression.
Mal's POV
Mal, Ben, Evie, Jay, and Carlos helped the VK's get their luggage into the limo. Mal felt relieved and excited that more VK's have a chance of living in Auradon. She also couldn't help but feel excited since not long ago she got engaged, it all felt surreal and blissful like a dream. Until it wasn't reality slammed into her like a rock. All because of one person. Hades.
Just as Mal realized Evie's eyes widened as well, "It's Hades! Stop the car, he's trying to escape!"
"I AM A GOD! I don't belong here!!" Hades bellowed with a livid expression.
Mal felt her heart pound into her chest. She hadn't seen him in years and he decided to do this? Go figure he isn't known for his patience or grace. The group quickly got out of the car but almost immediately Hades blasts at them. Ben, Carlos, and Jay fall to the ground, Hades chuckled but Mal thought it wasn't close to being humorous. Anger boiled inside of her as her eyes glowed green and purple smoke surrounded her. His smile immediately dropped as he looked at her, with a horrified expression.
As she flew ahead and bared her teeth, Hades blasted her with his ember. She felt it slipping away, her magic was dissolving like sand and rapidly. It was excruciating, it was like iron being burned into her skin. But it wasn't just physically it was also emotional; everything she's ever known the faery part of her was slipping away. And that thought to lose what she's always known was frightening. She screamed in agony as Hades continued to take away her magic with the ember.
Audrey's POV
The crowd watched in horror and fear as Hades blasts Mal.
"Do not panic! Okay, nobody panic!" Fairy God Mother expressed with panic laced in her voice.
"It's Mal!" Belle exclaimed with wide eyes as she turned to look at her husband.
"There's your precious queen! She's can't even protect us!" Audrey cried. She was sick and tired of everyone thinking she could protect them that she was the right choice to be queen when clearly she was not.
After Hades blasted Mal back once again everyone started to panic including Fairy Godmother. "Okay, we're panicking, bibbidi bobbidi run!" She yelled and stepped down from the podium as she did the crowd dispersed and everyone was panicking.
Mal's POV
Jay shouted, "C'mon, Mal! Blast him!" And she did. She blew the fire and air in Hades' direction causing him to lose his hold and closing the barrier once again. She detransformed landed on the car. Evie and Ben helped her down. She leaned onto Ben's shoulder as he supported her by holding onto her waist.
"Are you okay?" Evie asked, worry evident in her eyes.
"No! He was draining all of my magic with the ember and I felt all of my powers slipping
away."
Ben turned to her, "You're safe. He's back where he belongs. He can't hurt you or anyone else while he's there."
"Yeah. For now." Mal said, with bitterness tainted in her voice. "It'll be okay." He whispered soothingly. Mal grasped his hand and intertwined them together. Her heart pounded out of her chest; this was not the family reunion she wanted. Jay urged the group away from the barrier. Mal had this dreadful feeling this wasn't over, just the beginning of something even worse.
Once in the car Mal whispered to Ben, "When we get back to the castle there's something I need to tell you."
"What is it?" Ben asked.
"It's not something we can talk about here, okay?"
"Yeah." Ben agreed, understandingly she saw a glimpse of worry in his eyes but there was nothing she could say to soothe any sort of worry at least not at the moment. They both turned their attention ahead as they drove back to Auradon. This wasn't going to be an easy conversation, a lump formed in the back of her throat she couldn't help but feel nervous at the thought of telling Ben her secret.
