**FLASHBACK**

I loved my husband. A lot of people thought I married him for his money, but when I met him in highschool I fell hard.

He was handsome, a little taller than me and hilarious. I still remember when it all happened. Our 2 year wedding anniversary. We were trying to get pregnant and tonight we knew was gonna be the night. I walked upstairs the apartment complex and unlocked the door. Nothing could've prepared me for what I would see. The apartment was 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. It was a nice apartment we had until we decided when to buy a house in the city.
I walked through the door. Took my coat off, put my purse on our table with my keys. I called for him "."
No answer.
I walked into the bedroom and saw a brunette girl. She looked younger. Maybe in college. I gasped as she was in our bed dressed in her underwear.
"Who are you?!" I exclaimed.
"You must be the wife." She said sighing. She called for , who was hiding in the closet.
He came out, practically ready to start begging for forgiveness. I couldn't believe anything I was seeing.
"You're home early." He said, giving me puppy eyes almost.
"I thought I'd surprise you." I said looking down at my heels. I didn't know what to think. I knew no matter what he said, I knew it. He was cheating on me.
"I have to go." I said rushing out of the room. He followed me and grabbed my hand before I could grab my keys. "DONT TOUCH ME!" I yelled at him, moving his hand.
"Baby I'm sorry, I didn't think you would see her."
I couldn't believe him. 2 years down the drain. I looked at him in disgust, holding back my tears. We were gonna start a family. We had so many things planned. All that, gone. He, was dead to me.

**PRESENT DAY**

I didn't know how to react when Kaden called me. I was breaking a rule or two with having his number. I sat at my home. It's a apartment pretty similar to the one I shared with my ex, just smaller. One bedroom, one bathroom, no husband. I sipped my white wine I bought every weekend and would never finish in a day, so It rests in my fridge until I'm ready to drink it. I stared at my phone. 'If he didn't call in the next 10 minutes, I'm going to bed.' I thought to myself. I knew it was a lie, but I was trying to tell myself things I was gullible enough to believe.
I watched *The walking dead* while sipping my wine and staring at my phone. I was drifting off to sleep, when I heard my phone buzz. I jumped and almost spilled my wine. I grabbed my phone, cleared my throat and answered. "Hello?" I asked.
"Hey beautiful teacher." He said, in a sleepy tone almost.
I smiled a bit at this. "How are you tonight?"
"Good, just sipping some wine and watching TV." What am I doing? "Uh hows your night? How's Chloe?"
He chuckled. "It's good. Chloe's at her mom's today. So I get the house to myself." I nodded to myself.
He began to clear his throat. "You're not married right?"
I shook my head and spoke up. "No, I'm actually divorced. Got divorced about five months ago."
He sighed of relief. "Oh well I'm sorry about the divorce. I know how it is." He sighed. "Any kids?"
"No, never had the chance to have kids with him. Wanted some though."
He sighed again. "Well missed out. Kids are a hoot." He hesitated then began his next sentence.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure." I said.
"How would you like dinner?" He asked, I could tell he was smirking.
"Oh, well that would be nice. What day?"
He told me to hang on. When he came back he had a paper with him. "I can this weekend. What do you say? Saturday at 8pm? You can pick thr restaurant."
I smiled and nodded. "Sounds good. I can send you the restaurant."
"It's a date." He said.

We talked about our lives for the remainder of the night.
