.His half-lidded eyes only stared at the half empty glass in front of him. His back slumped against the soft cushions of the wide sofa-like chair in the bar. The only two emotions he felt were exhaustion and boredom as he awaited for something exciting to happen. And that something finally came.
There she was.
At first, he could only hear the sound of her stilettos clicking and clacking on the wooden floor boards, already memorizing the sound they had produced, but now, he could also make out her shadowy figure walking towards the small yet surprisingly very illuminated stage. His eyes quickly boring onto her, already captivated by her presence alone.
The woman then goes towards the middle of the stage, tapping the microphone to test if it was working which then generates a sound that echos throughout the entirety of the bar. She then proceeds to greet everyone in a low yet soothing voice which causes chills down his spine. Only she could ever make him feel that way just by her voice alone.
After the short greeting, she goes on and cues the band behind her, which consisted of: a pianist, a guitarist, and a bassist for now, gesturing them to start the opening of the song—fly me to the moon.
Although he has heard her sing this song a thousand times, he could never get sick of hearing her voice. Oh, how her voice makes him feel like he's in cloud 9. The way she sways to the rhythm of the song. She looks so majestic in the spotlight, just like a shining star.
She was his peace and comfort.
If only he knew he was hers as well.
After a few more songs, her performance finally came to an end. The audience applauded as if they were watching a musical opera, not someone just performing in their local bar. Although the bar did have some class, it's not like it was some high class bar for high class people or anything like that.
Giving the customers a bow for thanking them for listening and watching their performance, they then proceeded to head offstage. Knowing the performance was finally over, he quickly paid before heading out as well. But just before he could actually leave, someone suddenly shouts which catches everyone's attention immediately, him including.
"WAIT!"
He turns around to see..
Her.
Why was she here?
The one and only, (y/n),
In front of him?
He always knew she was pretty from afar but up close? She was divine. Her beauty is unmatched that he thought that she must be from out of this world. She glows a radiance of some sort as she shines the brightest amongst the people there. Noticing the awkwardness slowly start to rise, he quickly regained his composure while trying his best not to gawk at the woman in front of him.
"Sorry, I'm still in uttermost shock that you're in front of me right now. May I help you, love?" his words causes her cheeks to glow a ting of pink as she turns away for a moment, covering her half her face with her forehand before quickly turning back towards the tall man in front of her, making sure they both remain in eye contact with one another.
"Well, I know that this may sound a bit strange but may I ask, what's your name?" He could see her eyes were filled with curiosity and excitement. She was finally able to talk to the person she grew fond of over the months she performed there. Never would she have ever thought that the day would finally come where she would actually be able to talk to him. But there she was now, face to face with the person she has always admired.
She found comfort in his presence.
As she was to him.
His eyes then glistened with a bit of playfulness as he then softly leaned over towards her ear, catching her off guard.
"You'll find out soon enough, love—since, you will be screaming it soon."
The woman lets out a gasp, slapping his chest playfully as the man in front of her lets out a soft chuckle. "Well, I'll be heading home now. Same time next week?" she nods.
"I'll see you then, mr. ghost."
He then turns around and exits the premises, leaving her feeling alone yet contented by the fact she was able to talk to him and knowing that she would be able to see him again soon.
Maybe then, she would finally get to know him.
Maybe.

helloo, everyone ! Welcome to my new novel—"falling star". Okay so, this book is inspired by the song "Goddess" by Laufey which I highly recommend you guys listen to !!
This book will only contain a few chapters because I'm not really that fond on writing books w/ alottt of chapters as of now so,, yes.
Also, I'm not really that knowledgeable about the Call of Duty plot whatsoever as I have certainly not played the game and have little to no knowledge about military stuff so, apologies for that as well T^T
Anyways, that's all for now ! Know that English is not my first language so I apologize for any grammatical errors I have or might make in the future.
Read w/ caution considering there will be mature content in the further chapters.
Thank you all sm for reading the first chapter of "falling star".
