and today is the day I meet my "in-laws" for the first time. My heart fluttered nervously as I got ready, trying to imagine what this dinner would be like.

I took a deep breath and made my way downstairs.

"Wow, Hayoon, you look gorgeous," Mom exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with pride.

I didn't reply, my mind too preoccupied with thoughts of the evening ahead.

"Hayoon," she called again, her voice gentle yet insistent.

"Mom, I already told you that I don't want to get married," I said, frustration evident in my tone.

"I know, but this is such a good opportunity. You'll never find a man like him," she replied, trying to persuade me for the hundredth time.

"I don't care," I muttered, feeling a bit overwhelmed.

"Oh, c'mon Hayoon. You even disagreed to see his picture. Today, we finally decided to have dinner together so that you could meet," she explained, her excitement barely contained.

"Why did they say yes now?" I asked, curiosity creeping into my voice.

"Their son is often very busy, so they couldn't find time," Mom answered.

"Workaholic, I guess," I said with a sigh.

"He is," she confirmed.

"Ladies, should we leave?" Dad's voice interrupted, as he came downstairs, looking dapper in his suit.

"Yes," Mom replied eagerly.

I didn't say anything, just silently followed them out the door and into the car, my mind racing with thoughts of what was to come. As we drove towards the restaurant, I couldn't help but wonder what this mysterious man would be like.

We approached the charming little restaurant where our meeting was set. My heart fluttered with a mix of anticipation and nerves. It was a special evening, orchestrated by our parents, and I could sense the excitement in the air.

"Dad: Mr. Park! Mrs. Park!" Dad's voice was warm and full of joy.

"Mr. Park: Oh, Hyunwoo!" Mr. Park's eyes sparkled with delight as he embraced my father.

The reunion was filled with laughter and nostalgia. "Mr. Park: It's so nice meeting you again," Mr. Park said, his voice thick with emotion.

"Mom: Yes! It's been so long. I am glad you finally got time," Mom added, her smile genuine and kind.

"Dad: Why are we standing? Let's sit," Dad suggested, ushering us towards the table.

We settled into our seats, the soft murmur of the restaurant providing a comforting backdrop. "Mom: Where is Sunghoon?" she inquired, curiosity twinkling in her eyes.
