                               Sokkas pov

"Sokka, can you come help me clean?" Suki asked, her voice carrying through the open window of their small home.

"Yeah, sure. Give me a second; I'm writing to Katara and Zuko," Sokka answered, his pen scratching furiously across the parchment.

Suki's request came as no surprise. Their small home, while modest, had become a place of refuge and healing for many. After the war ended, the echoes of battle still lingered in the form of unaddressed issues and unresolved fears. Among them was the unsettling knowledge that Azula had never been captured.

Sokka folded the letter, placing it in an envelope marked with the Fire Nation seal. He glanced at the other two letters he had penned: one to Katara, detailing their latest progress on the Southern Water Tribe's reconstruction, and the other to Zuko, updating him on the ongoing efforts to stabilize the Earth Kingdom.

He tucked the letters into his satchel, then stood and stretched before heading to the kitchen where Suki was already busy with a mop and bucket.

Suki looked up and smiled as he entered, a mixture of relief and frustration on her face. "Thanks for coming. I thought I'd never get this place cleaned up on my own."

"No problem. Looks like I'm just in time to save you from drowning in soap bubbles," Sokka joked, grabbing a dishrag and rolling up his sleeves.

As they worked side by side, Suki couldn't help but notice the thoughtful expression on Sokka's face. He had been unusually quiet lately, his jokes not as frequent and his laughter less resonant.

"You know," Suki began, trying to break the silence, "it's been a while since we had a break. Maybe we should take a few days off and go visit Katara and Zuko.

I'm sure they'd love to see us."

Sokka sighed, wiping his hands on a towel. "I'd love that, Suki. But it's just... I keep thinking about Azula. We haven't heard anything about her in months, and I can't shake the feeling that something's brewing."

Suki stopped her scrubbing and looked at him, her eyes full of concern. "Sokka, we've been through so much. We can't let the fear of what might happen keep us from living our lives."

Sokka nodded, his brow furrowing. "I know. It's just hard to shake off the feeling of dread. We've faced so many enemies, but she's different. She's always been more unpredictable."

Suki placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We've beaten the odds before. Remember when we thought the Fire Nation was unbeatable? We can handle this too. But we need to be strong, not just for ourselves but for everyone who looks up to us."

Her words seemed to resonate with Sokka. He thought about the families they had helped, the lives they had touched. Perhaps Suki was right; they had to continue living, not letting fear dictate their actions.

"Alright," he said with a determined nod. "Let's finish up here and plan a visit. It'll be good for us to see everyone. And maybe—just maybe—seeing them will help clear our minds."

The two of them worked in companionable silence for a while longer, the task of cleaning bringing them a sense of normalcy and togetherness. As they finished up, the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over their little home.

Later that evening, Sokka sat by the window, watching the last rays of sunlight fade. He thought about the letters he'd sent and the journey they were about to embark on. The shadows of the past might still linger, but they had the strength and unity to face whatever came their way.

He stood up, walked over to Suki who was preparing dinner, and wrapped his arms around her in a comforting embrace.

"Thank you," he said softly. "For everything."

Suki smiled and leaned into him. "We're in this together, Sokka. No matter what."

And as they prepared for the days ahead, the uncertainty of the past seemed to fade slightly, replaced by the hope of what the future could bring. Together, they would face whatever came next, knowing that the strength of their bond would guide them through the darkest of times.
