Chapter Eight

*Two Weeks Later*

It was a sunny Tuesday afternoon. A stray streak of sparkling sunlight that escaped from somewhere in the roofs strolled across the room and over my toes. I could help but wriggle my toes and toy with it.

I wasn't allowed to go anywhere, so I got used to having fun in the weirdest ways. I read encyclopedias, newspapers, and even dictionaries. I counted the ceiling and tiles. I even rearranged the whole house, much to Mom's delight.

I finished reading the book of Psalms, and oh my, David was one amazing poet!

I tore apart an old radio and did a thousand TikTok singing videos with Satt. At least she was allowed to visit me; she was a little glitter of hope in the middle of it all.

She'd be here any minute now, I thought and I wasn't wrong. She burst in through the door suddenly, all beaming with smiles.

I couldn't help but wonder why she was extraordinarily happy. But I sat there calmly. "What is it?" I inquired.

She squeaked, "Check out the numbers on our last video," she said, diving her phone into my face.

I grabbed the phone from her as I knelt on my bed in front of her.

"10k views?" Oh my God! Our videos never went above 19 views. My mind was blown. I sat staring at the screen, my hand over my mouth.

"Say something" Satt squeaked again.

"I don't know what to say," I squeaked back as I got off the bed and hugged her. We proceeded to do a little happy dance before collapsing on the bed.

I had done it, even though I didn't realize it all this while. I was actually living my dream. God had answered my prayers in a way I didn't expect. I was making music for the world to listen to.

Fulfilling my purpose and living my dream was much more than this, but I had my entire life to live it, and God had every step planned for me perfectly. All I had to do was seek His will at each turn and trust His answers.

"I'm a little nervous about next week," I said out loud just then.

"Why?" Satt asked.

"I'd be the new girl, what if..."

"What if you actually love it?" Satt interrupted. "And we would be classmates."

"I guess that's cool then," I agreed.

"You have nothing to worry about," she continued. "Just hold your head up high and walk in like your dad owns the place."

I giggled and added, "At least My Father does, He owns the whole world. I am a daughter of the King!"
