So, this is a quick update post that isn't a chapter. This is just to make sure everyone is caught up on stuff, and also to provide some images to help people get a visualization of certain things.
First, right below this is a map of the US I created to show the progress of secession in the US. The color guide is as follows: yellow is Texas, red is the UAR, blue is Deseret, green is the Sioux Nation, and grey are the states still loyal to the US.
Now, below are going to be the flags of the secessionist countries. First of all, the flag of the Republic of Texas is basically just the current flag of Texas:
Then, the flag of the UAR. The UAR basically adopted the original 13 star design of the US flag as a symbol that they are trying to preserve the United States as the Founding Fathers intended:
Next, the flag of Deseret. This flag is basically a modern interpretation of the flag design for the original State of Deseret proposed in the 1850s:
Finally, the flag of the Sioux Nation, which is the actual flag of the Oglala Lakota Tribe. The flag was adopted as the flag of the country to honor the Oglala's role in the secession, and as a symbol of their defiance against the US government. In universe, it's only a temporary flag as they work to design a new one (I suck at art and designing, so I don't have one myself, but if any fans who read this would like to submit a design, I'd be happy to feature it):
Last, I just wanted to list off which countries recognize the secessionist countries:
Mexico, Taiwan, Brazil, Poland, Ukraine, Israel, Denmark, and Tonga. This means there are now 8 countries that have recognized the secessionists. In addition, South Africa has cut diplomatic ties with the US, although they haven't recognized the secessionists.
