(paige's pov)
Going to a college party with alcohol in someone else's dorm room wasn't typically something Paige would do, but things at home had been rough and she needed to blow off some steam.
Plus, it wasn't till later that she realized the room she was in was right next to Sheldon's door.
Speaking of him...
A knock came on the door of the room, and one of the guys, Bobby, who was at the party, opened it, seeing Sheldon. "Yeah?"
"I'm here to talk to you about your music and your abysmal Morse code skills." He informed Bobby.
"What?"
"Four dots is just the letter 'H.'" Sheldon rolled his eyes, obviously annoyed. "Was your message 'huh?'"
"What?" He repeated, still confused.
Sheldon sighed, opening his mouth to further explain before laying eyes on Paige, who was walking inside the room with a plastic red party cup in her hand and sipping from it.
Her hair had been messily let down, and she wore a simple t-shirt with leggings.
"Paige?" He asked, squinting his eyes at her.
"Sheldon?" Paige questioned, equally surprised.
Bobby interjected, "You know him?"
"Yeah, no, we go way back," She smiled, reminiscing about their first encounter in a class.
"What are you doing here?"
"Uh... Would you believe me if I told you I was working on a femtosecond laser in the engineering department?"
"Yes..."
Paige smirked, fiddling with the cup in her hands. "Then that."
Sheldon sniffed the air, being able to tell what was in their cups. "You know she's not old enough to drink beer, right?"
"I'm not old enough to drink beer," Bobby told him, chuckling.
"Yeah, one second," She smiled, walking out of the room and closing the door. "Come here."
He walked over to where Paige was standing. "Did I convince you that drinking is wrong? Good for me."
"Just leave me alone, Sheldon." She sighed, not really meaning it.
I'm just tired... I want to have some fun- is that so much to ask for?
"But what are you doing here?" Sheldon inquired, looking Paige up and down.
"I'm trying to have fun, and I don't want them to know how old I am." She explained, growing more and more frustrated by the second.
"Why?"
"Because I want them to think that I'm cool."
"But you're smart," He told her, looking disoriented. "What's cooler than that?"
Her breath hitched, glancing at Sheldon's soft and kind expression. She didn't necessarily want to push him away. "Just... just go away,"
Suddenly, the door of the dorm room opened, and Bobby peeked his head out. "Hey, we're fixing to play some beer-pong. You in?"
"You should know, she is not-" He turned to Bobby, his eyes narrowing before getting cut off by Paige.
"Not had dinner," She quickly said. "I have not had dinner yet, so we are going to go get some food." Paige threw her arm around Sheldon's shoulder.
