!! if something is not right in the story please correct me!

-" just promise me you wont tell anyone."-

RATIO POV (this is like thirdperson of ratios side)

Ratio sat at his desk, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the keyboard as he worked on his latest project. The office buzzed with the usual hum of activity, but today, something was different. He could hear hushed whispers and stolen glances being cast in his direction. Curious, he focused on the conversation happening a few desks away.

"Did you hear about Aventurine?" one of his colleagues whispered. "I heard he was the last survivor of some kind of massacre."

"Yeah, someone mentioned he used to be called Kakavasha or something," another voice added. "Apparently, he was part of this clan that got completely wiped out."

Ratio's heart skipped a beat. Aventurine, his best friend, the carefree gambler with the ever-present smile, had never mentioned anything about such a past. Ratio's mind raced, trying to piece together the fragments of what he was hearing. A massacre? A different name? Why had Aventurine kept this from him?

"I heard he was a slave for a while too," a third voice chimed in. "That tattoo on his neck? It's supposedly a mark from his time in captivity."

Ratio felt a surge of protective anger mixed with a deep sense of sorrow. How could Aventurine have gone through so much without ever saying a word? He thought about all the times they'd laughed together, the countless adventures they'd shared. How much pain had Aventurine been hiding behind that smile?

As the whispers continued, Ratio's concern grew. He had to find out the truth. He needed to understand what Aventurine had been through, not out of idle curiosity, but because he wanted to help his friend carry the weight of his past. Ratio's respect and admiration for Aventurine deepened. Surviving such horrors and still managing to smile every day spoke volumes about his friend's strength and resilience.

That evening, Ratio found himself standing at Aventurine's hospital room, heart pounding with a mix of anxiety and determination. He knocked, and walked in, meeting eyes with Aventurines unique eyes. Ratio knew that whatever happened next, he would stand by his friend. Aventurine might have faced his past alone, but he wouldn't face the future that way. Not if Ratio had anything to say about it.

AVENTURINE (with little parts of third person) POV

Today was another one of Ratio's weekly visits, and it was an eventful day from the start. However, this time, as the purple-haired man entered the room, his face showed a clear expression of disappointment and worry.

"Ratio, what's wrong?" Aventurine asked, concern evident in his voice.

Ratio's eyes flashed with a mixture of hurt and anger. "Why didn't you tell me? Huh? I thought we were best friends. I thought we knew everything about each other. But how could you not have told me about this?"

Aventurine looked shocked. "I— What are you talking about, Ratio?"

"YOUR PAST, AVENTURINE!" Ratio's voice rose, filled with frustration. "Explain to me. What really happened to you."

Aventurine's heart sank. He had hoped to keep his past buried, not wanting to burden Ratio or anyone really, with his personal struggles. But now, facing Ratio's intense gaze, he knew he had no choice but to come clean.

"Kakavasha, hah... I never thought I would say that name again. It's my old name from when I was younger. I lived in a desert named Sigona-IV. Our community split into two clans: the Katicans and the Avgins."

"The Katicans were known to be a fierce clan, while the Avgins gained their title as thieves."

As Aventurine spoke about his traumatic past, Ratio continued to nod and listen carefully to every detail that spilled out of his mouth.

"Both clans fought over and over until finally the IPC intervened, and the Sigonian Sovereignty was introduced in adherence to the interstellar peace charter. But this promise of peace and unity was not extended to the Avgins and Katicans, causing them both to be banished to the endless deserts. This resulted in violence as both clans fought for survival."

"I was an Avgin, and my real name is Kakavasha... My name meant 'Child blessed by the Gaiathra Triclops.' Gaiathra was known to be the Avgin deity, and throughout my whole life, I was always known as having incredibly good luck."

It was hard to hold eye contact with Ratio as he basically pierced me with his stare.

"Which is probably why I'm a gambler... haha... Before I was even born my father had died, and my mother had died soon after, leaving both me and my older sister to fend for ourselves. Due to the war between the two clans, the IPC promised to provide my clan (the Avgins) with protection and security during our sacred holiday, the Day of the Kakava."

"The Day of the Kakava was a celebration of the Gaiathra Triclops, a yearly rebirth. Before the festival even arrived, there was a rumor that the Katicans were planning an attack on our clan. My older sister reassured me that with the help of the IPC we would surely win."

"But that's not what happened. The IPC arrived late and failed to protect the Avgins, causing 6,728 of our clan members to die, and 3,452 went missing. I only found out later as my older sister advised me at that very moment to run."

"On this present day, this is known as 'the Second Katica-Avgin Extinction Event,' with the entire Avgin clan wiped out, except Kakavasha as their sole survivor and the last Avgin."

"I had to fend for myself for so long. Until I was captured by hunters and sold in the slave market to a cruel master. This slavery was the reason I have this tattoo on my neck. It's a symbol to show that I was owned and treated like a slave. Finally, I was freed from this harsh treatment and my horrible master. I hated him so much for what he did to me. Let's say in result; I killed him."

"Soon enough, the IPC heard about it, and I was sentenced to death for murder. But clearly, I'm right here. That was because I made a bet with Jade, one of the ten Stone Hearts, a group of elite members of the IPC. I told them that I would bring great success and wealth to the IPC, but only if the organization took me in."

"They accepted my offer and made me one of the ten Stone Hearts and received the Cornerstone while also granting me my new name, Aventurine."

"Um... yeah..." I whispered, trying to create any sort of conversation.

"How... how could you not have told me about this, Aventurine?" Ratio's voice wavered, his anger mixed with deep hurt.

"I'm sorry, Ratio," Aventurine replied, his voice barely above a whisper. He felt the weight of his past pressing down on him, the memories of his lost clan, his harsh years of survival, and the guilt of the secrets he had kept from his best friend.

Ratio took a deep breath, his eyes softening slightly. "I get that you wanted to protect me from all this, but we're in this together. You don't have to bear this burden alone."

Aventurine nodded, a small, grateful smile appearing on his face. "Thank you, Ratio. I promise, no more secrets."

The two friends stood in silence for a moment, the air heavy with the weight of the past and the promise of a more honest future.
