- she doesn't do youtube herself but has gained a following due to association as she regularly makes little appearances in the triplets' videos
- you can obviously imagine riley as you'd like but in this book i will refer to her eyes and hair as brown
- will always be in riley's pov unless stated otherwise
- p.s: hockey isn't a massive thing in my country so ignore how inaccurate all the hockey scenes will be !

flashback

i let out a sigh as i rub matt's back, comforting him with my other siblings, chris and nick.

"it'll be okay matt, i promise." i said, in attempt to get him to stop crying.

"i can't believe she left. just like that! all we've been through this past year, and she left just like that." he sobbed out loud. i share a sad look with chris and nick. me and demitra have always been close, even before she began to date my brother. we've been friends since childhood. we began to drift as she started to focus solely on matt rather than our friendship. of course it hurt, but nonetheless, i was happy for my brother. he got the girl of his dreams and they seemed so happy - until she moved to canada an hour ago with little to no warning.

"it wasn't her choice, i'm sure if she had the choice she would've stayed in boston." nick tried to reason.

"you can't blame her matt." chris said.

matt sighed, putting his head in his hands, "she barely even warned me. she thought letting me know she was moving countries an hour before would be okay?" he began to yell. "we were together for a year! i loved her.." his voice broke as he began to let out more and more of his feelings, as well as more tears.

"i'm sorry matt. i'm sure if it was meant to be, you'll find her again." i said, hugging him as he sat on the floor, his arms wrapped around himself. chris and nick joined in as we continued to comfort him.

present day - 2 years later - sunday morning (6:00 am)

"riley! are you ready yet?" i heard my mom yell from downstairs.

"yup!" i struggle to yell as i have a toothbrush falling out of my mouth while simultaneously jumping into my black jeans. i throw on a white tank top and a simple puffer jacket. i grab my phone, airpods, and suitcase and run downstairs.

i see my entire family waiting for me. my mom, dad, and three brothers. i'm only a few minutes late so i'm not sure why they're rushing me so much.

"hurry up, let's gooooo." my dad exaggerates, putting his flip flops on and getting into the mini van we rented but not before he put his and my moms suitcases in the back.

i quickly put on my white airforces and ran to pack my stuff in the back of the van before running to sit next to matt.

"you excited?" i ask him with a smile, hoping the thought of canada doesn't bring back any memories from two years ago.

"i guess." he mumbled with a smile, looking out the window. i guess i reminded him of it. i understand how he feels though, i miss her too. she was my best friend, even two years later i haven't found anyone who could remotely compare to our friendship. i guess i could say she was my first heartbreak after we drifted apart after she started to date matt. i can't blame neither of them though, their relationship was beautiful and i'll always be envious of them.
