Alessandro "Alex" De Luca stood at the edge of the rooftop, gazing out over the city skyline. The wind whipped through his dark hair, and his eyes narrowed against the chill. His father's death had left a power vacuum, and Alex was determined to fill it.
As he turned to leave, a figure emerged from the shadows. Sophia Esposito, daughter of the rival family's patriarch, looked every inch the enemy. Her piercing green eyes flashed with hatred as she approached Alex.
"You're a hard man to find, De Luca," Sophia spat. "But now that I've got you, you're going to pay for what your family did to mine."
Alex sneered, his eyes raking over Sophia's curves. "You think you can take me down, little girl? I'll enjoy watching you try."
Their words hung in the air, heavy with tension and mutual disdain. But as they locked eyes, Alex felt a spark of attraction he couldn't ignore.
Sophia's gaze dropped to his lips, and for a moment, Alex thought he saw a flicker of desire. But then her mask slipped back into place, and she snarled.
"You're a monster, De Luca. And I'll make sure you pay for your sins."
Alex laughed, the sound low and menacing. "You're no angel, Esposito. And I'll make sure you know the true meaning of power."
As they circled each other, the air grew thick with tension. Alex knew he should kill her, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Not yet.
He wanted to know more about this fiery woman who dared to challenge him.
"Tell me, Sophia," Alex said, his voice dripping with malice. "What makes you think you can take on the De Luca family?"
Sophia's smile was a thin, cold line. "I have secrets, De Luca. Secrets that could bring you down."
Alex raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what might those be?"
Sophia leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I know about your father's dealings with the Russians. I know about the money laundering, the extortion, the murder."
Alex's eyes narrowed. "You're bluffing."
Sophia's smile grew wider. "Am I?"
