All of us stared around Kings Cross in confusion after mum left us there. Yes, I was a daughter of Hecate, but mum hadn't explained how to get to our platform. That's when I noticed a family run through the wall in between platforms 9 and 10. The boy I'd seen do it had flaming red hair, and the family he'd come from all did, too.
"Guys, I think I just saw the way through." I told them.
"Great, how?" Callia asked me.
"Through the wall in between platforms 9 and 10. Don't worry, we won't crash... I think." Most people raised an eyebrow at me, so I volunteered to go first with my trolley. When I emerged from the wall, I found myself on a whole new platform, with a red train already waiting there. It didn't take long for everyone else to arrive.
"Right, guys, we're going to have to split up. There's no way we can all fit into a compartment together." Sophia decided. She, Annabeth, and Caleb then proceeded to work together to put us all into groups of four. I was with Sophia, Callia, and Isla. The four of us climbed onto the train, and set about finding a compartment.
"Here, let's try this one." Callia indicated to a compartment with only two boys in it - a black haired boy who reminded me of Percy, and a red haired boy. Isla slid the compartment door open.
"Mind if we join you?" The Magician asked.
"Not at all." The Percy-lookalike smiled politely at us, and we sat in the compartment after hauling our luggage up above us.
"Thanks." Callia replied. "My name's Callia, by the way. Callia Pike."
"I'm Harry Potter."
"Ron Weasley. And you three are..."
"Isla Howard."
"Alisa Hooper."
"Sophia Clarkson."
"So, are all your families magical?" Harry asked us. Isla, Sophia, and Callia all looked to me for help.
"We're half-bloods," I answered. "But not in the typical way. We'll explain at school, don't worry."
"Do any of you know any magic?" Harry asked the three girls, Ron, and I.
"Ummm... kind of?" Isla's answer sounded more like a question.
"Nope." Callia didn't even seem to mind about only finding out about the Wizarding World that day.
"No, but I'm a quick learner." Sophie also seemed pretty casual about knowing literally no magic. Then again, she was a quick learner, as a daughter of Athena. If Sophia'd had the time, and no dyslexia, she would have read every school book.
"Not really, no. But hopefully I'll pick it up quickly."
"I heard you went to live with Muggles, Harry." Ron swiftly changed the subject off magical ability. "What're they like?
"Horrible - well, not all of them. My aunt and uncle and cousin are, though. I wish I'd had three wizard brothers."
"Five." Ron corrected. He looked rather gloomy about having five brothers. "I'm the sixth in our family to go to Hogwarts. You could say I've got a lot to live up to. Bill and Charlie have already left - Bill was head by and Charlie was captain of Quidditch. Now Percy's a Prefect. Fred and George mess around a lot, but they still get really good grades, and everyone thinks they're really funny. Everyone expects me to do as well as the others, but if I do, it's no big deal because they did it first."
"Ron, you won't just do as well as everyone else, you'll do better than all your brothers, trust me!" Callia reassured him.
"Thanks, Callia." Ron replied gratefully. "You never get anything new, either, though, with five brothers. I've got Bill's old robes, Charlie's old wand, and Percy's old rat." Ron reached inside his jacket, and pulled out a fat, grey eat, who was fast asleep. "His name's Scabbers, and he's useless, he never wakes up. Percy got an owl from my dad for being made Prefect, and they couldn't aff - I mean, Scabbers got handed down to me instead." Ron's ears went pink, and he clearly must've said too much, because he started gazing out the window.
"Ron, don't worry about it, I bet you if I had five older brothers and a little sister, my dad wouldn't be able to afford to buy me an owl, either." Callia smiled. That was one of the few good things about the children of Aphrodite - they always knew how to comfort you, always knew how to make you feel better.
"Yeah, I've never had much money in my life - at least, not until a month ago. The Dursleys never brought me any proper birthday presents, either, and I always had to wear my cousin's old clothes." Harry added. Upon hearing this, Ron seemed to cheer up a lot. "Until Hagrid told me, I didn't know a thing about being a wizard or about my parents or about Voldemort -" Harry was cut off by Ron gasping in shock and fear. "What?" He asked, confused.
"You said You-Know-Who's name!" Ron exclaimed.
"Voldemort, Voldemort, do the Voldy, Voldy, Voldemort!" Isla and Sophia sang. Harry, Ron, and I burst into fits of laughter.
"What?" Callia asked.
"Potter Puppet Palls." I explained between laughter. "I highly recommend you search it up, Callia, it's called Harry Potter and the Mysterious Ticking Noise. "
"Anyway," Ron somehow stopped laughing. "I thought you of all people -"
"I'm not trying to be brave or anything, saying the name." Harry, too, had conquered his laughter, as had I. "I just never knew you shouldn't. See what I mean? I've got loads to learn. I bet... I bet I'm the worst in the class."
"You won't be, Harry." Callia reassured him.
"Yeah, that'll be Callia." Sophia agreed.
"Hey!" Callia retorted.
"Harry, there's loads of people who come from Muggle families, and they learn quickly enough." Ron agreed with the two girls. While we had all been talking, I saw the train had moved out of London, and was now passing fields packed with cows and sheep. I kept an eye on the country view as the train moved closer to my new school.
