This chapter takes place exactly three days after the previous one. Their days in-between happened like normal. Just work, hanging out together and as always, Myung Jaehyun being clingy with Riwoo.
Today, the couple decided to go on a date, they had been busy over the past few weeks and hadn't been able to go on one. It annoyed them a bit as the really wanted to hang out together in a romantic setting.
"This time, I'll pay." Jaehyun said as he looked at the menu, he noticed the boy starting to take out his own wallet. He took it out of his hands and stuffed it in his pocket.
His heart fluttered when seeing the soft yet cute pout on his boyfriend's face. He had to stop himself from kissing him, despite being out to their friends and family, they weren't ready to come out to the world anytime soon.
"Ah, you again hyung?" The cashier asked, his smile dropping when seeing him. It was meant as a joke though, he was always happy to see the pair at the coffee shop.
"Sorry Woonhak, you already know what we'll be getting, right?" They often went to the coffee shop, but it was mostly only when Woonhak was working to visit him and catch up.
"Of course, it'll be ready in a minute." He read off the total and opened the cash register, he knew the two always paid with cash. Jaehyun took out the wallet and paid, it was only after looking at the wallet that he realised he accidentally paid with Riwoo's money.
"Guess I paid for it again." Riwoo flashed him a small but playful smile. He took back his wallet and dragged him by the arm towards an empty table in the corner of the shop.
Jaehyun laughed it off and ruffled his hair. "How cute." He said in awe, Riwoo couldn't help, but blush. He'd been so used to the compliments that the reaction would go under his radar now. Jaehyun always recognised the soft pink shade over his cheeks but thought it just brought out some of his features he appreciated a lot.
"Geez get a room." Woonhak said while laughing, he had the tray with the two drinks and a donut. He carefully placed it on the table and said the usual things he had to. With how often the couple came, they knew the statement by heart, even with the intonation of the youngest boy. Sometimes, to purposely annoy him, they'd say the words at exactly the same time as him. It would always make Woonhak pout until he remembered that he had to go back to working as customers were starting to form a line.
Jaehyun then looked at Riwoo, his eyes were filled by stars when seeing the dessert he had gotten. He felt his heart melt when seeing the older boy's delight. He would often take pictures of him like this, because it was pure happiness. He had a full folder filled with hundreds to thousands of pictures of his boyfriend.
"I want to hug you and kiss you until you get so annoyed that you force me to go to sleep, even if it's three in the afternoon." Honestly speaking, Riwoo wasn't the number one fan of physical touch, but he'd still gladly take it if it was Jaehyun. There were some limits though, obviously there were.
"Sorry?" Riwoo hadn't been listening to him, he was too happy about sharing time with his favourite person in his favourite place with his favourite food. Jaehyun just smiled at him and laughed it off, he decided to reformulate his answer, as he thought Riwoo would get offended — in a jokey way — over how he was portrayed in Jaehyun's retelling of how he probably already acted in the past.
"I love you Riwoo." That was how he decided to change his words, at the end of the day, both of them pointed to his final answer. One was more direct though, the other just proved his love even further.
"I love you too Jaehyun, more than I could ever express it. You know?" Riwoo softly smiled, if comfort was a smile for Jaehyun, then it was definitely this one. So many things he loved about Riwoo were things he'd never be able to express, or didn't think he'd be able to express.
He was deep in thought when a brilliant idea came to him. He gasped when thinking it up, it scared Riwoo a bit as he thought he was choking on his iced coffee, and he obviously didn't want anything to happen to his boyfriend.
"Maybe you can't express it out loud, me neither, but maybe you can express it on paper! Your love for me." He added the last part hastily, as he realised that Riwoo maybe could've forgotten about what they were talking about due to a pause. So, he explained what the "it" in his idea.
"That's a great idea Hyunie! Why am I not surprised one bit!" He laughed a bit before cutting off a small part for Jaehyun to try, he placed the piece right next to his glass. The younger boy knew he needed an over the top reaction so that Riwoo would be satisfied, so that's exactly what he did.
Once they had finished their short but very enjoyable date, they looked at the table for a couple of seconds, then at the cash register.
"Should we leave a tip for Woonhak?" Jaehyun asked jokingly, already knowing that they would leave a small one. "We could always give him more tomorrow." Riwoo said, he was already taking out his wallet, this time, Jaehyun wouldn't let him pay. Even if it was only a very small amount of money, he finally wanted to contribute to a date, for the past few days, he had always been outsmarted by Riwoo, or just too slow to pay before him. Even when he thought he would finally be able to pay, his own inattention
— like today's date — would make Riwoo be the one to pay."I'll let you this time." Riwoo said with a killer smile. Killer for Jaehyun, it was a mix between a smile and a smirk. Just the cutest in his eyes.
