School's out, summer is in. Percy, Leo, Frank and I went to Percy's house to go play football in his yard. Most people would say we were the classic jock. But we're nothing like that. We all have a hard time talking to girls, and we are like the kind of group that you see in class that hangs out with each other everyday. Anyway we were tossing the football around when Percy tossed it way too hard. I backed up trying to catch it, but it was out of reach. It landed in the house across from our's back yard. I heard a splash and a shriek. Great. We walked over to the house and knocked on the door. A woman with platinum blond curls opened the door.
"Yes?" She asked.
"Oh, well umm, you see, we were tossing a football and it kinda landed in your backyard. May we please get it?" I asked.
"Of course, sweeties," she replied. "The gate is in locked, you boys can step in and look for it, my daughter is back there, she the brunette one, she's back there with her friends, so give her a heads up and she may help you if you're having a hard time looking. Good Luck finding you ball. "
With that, we went in the back yard and saw that it was huge. There was a large pool in the ground filled with sparkling blue water. There were beach chairs off the the side and a ping pong table. There were four girls there. One with dark skin and curly brown hair, that was sitting on the beach chair reading a magazine. Frank was staring at her with googly eyes. There was another with dark, almond eyes, pale skin, and straight, golden brown hair. She was doing the same thing that Frank has a crush on. Turns out, Leo has a crush too, guess who. Two girls were playing a competitive match of ping pong. One had curly, blond hair, with grey eyes. The other girl, I assumed was the daughter of the woman who owns this house. She has straight, long brunette hair, she looked athletic, a slender body, built for sports. She was soaked with water, unlike the other girls. Maybe it was just me, noticing more things about the brunette. Her eyes were more mesmerizing than the ping pong ball being hit back and forth. They changed color like a kaleidoscope, from brown, blue, or green. Just when she was about to serve for the next round, she looked at us at the sound of the gate closing. She excused her self and walked over to us.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Um, we were tossing a football and it kinda went in your yard." I said.
"Oh, you mean the football that hit me while I was relaxing on the floating chair on top of the water?" Piper asked with irritation.
"Um, ya," I said. "Sorry if it hit you."
We stood there waiting.
"Are you guys expecting me to get it?" She asked.
We all nodded. She sighed in frustration.
"As long as it gets rid of you."
She dove in the water and went back up with our football. She threw it at us like she's done it before.
"Now begone." She said.
Piper led us outside, when she was about to leave, I stopped her.
"Can I have your phone number?" I asked.
She snickered. "Sure."
She wrote it on a piece of paper and handed it to me.
"Bye, Jason."
The note said her phone number and a little note. It said Call me! My heart skipped a beat. Of course I would call her.Coming Soon in the fall!
