CALLISTA

The room fell silent, every eye turned towards me. I felt the weight of their gazes and the room seemed to shrink around me. My heart pounded in my chest, and I could barely breathe. Cepheus's hand squeezed mine, grounding me. His confident smile and the warmth in his eyes told me that everything would be alright.

Alpha Cepheus gently placed a hand on my back, his touch grounding me amidst the sudden whirlwind of attention. His words echoed in my mind, and the reality of what he'd just announced hit me like a tidal wave. I was now officially recognized as his mate, the Alpha Female of the pack. The murmurs of surprise and excitement among the pack members grew louder, and I felt my cheeks burn with a mixture of embarrassment and pride that Cepheus did not hesitate one bit to introduce me to the pack, knowing that I can't even shift.

"Callista has been a part of our pack for some time now," Cepheus continued, his voice steady and commanding. "She's proven her love, kindness, and dedication to all of us. As you already know, my mate is a great baker and owns the town most popular bakery, along with her grandmother. I am honored to have her by my side, I have been looking for my mate for a long time, and now I have her with me, and I know she will make an incredible Alpha Female."

My face flushed as every eye in the room focused on me. I managed to swallow my drink, feeling my heart pound in my chest. The room was silent, waiting for my reaction. Cepheus turned to me, his expression one of gentle encouragement. "It's okay," he whispered, his hand still holding mine firmly.

Taking a deep breath, I nodded, trying to steady my nerves. "Thank you," I said, my voice surprisingly steady. "I'm honored to be here with all of y-you."

Wow, what a speech from me. That's all I can say? deep inside, I'm feeling emotional. I want to cry, Cepheus did not tell me that the gathering was meant to introduce me to the pack. He didn't ask me if I'm ready for it, I want to burst into tears. There's that overwhelming feeling.

I'm not ready for this! Or Am I?

Are we going too fast? Or Am I just having a hard time to cope?

If I was a regular werewolf who's intouch with their wolf, this feeling would have been more controlled and will probably feel good, I'll probably swell with confidence but because I'm more like of ordinary human, it's hard to handle this by myself, I feel trapped.

The pack members started clapping, a few cheers breaking out among the crowd. The warmth and acceptance in their faces made my anxiety dissipate, replaced by a sense of belonging. Cepheus squeezed my hand again, his smile radiating pride. He saw the hesitant look in my eyes.

"It will be alright." He whispered, kissing the top of my head. I knew this day would come, the day the Alpha will have to step forward and present me as his mate to the pack. But am I ready to take this responsibility? He owns the biggest pack of the North, how can I baker like me help him? I

The evening was yet to end, the atmosphere relaxed. Pack members approached us to offer their congratulations, each interaction making me feel more at ease. Cepheus remained by my side, introducing me to those I didn't know.

Beta Caxius approached us, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Congratulations, Callista. It's about time Cepheus made it official."

I laughed, feeling the tension in my shoulders ease. "Thank you, Beta Caxius. I'm still trying to process the situation."

"That's Caxius to you, Alpha Female." He corrected with a cheeky grin on his face, before I can even respond, The Alpha wrapped his arms around my waist and clapped Caxius on the shoulder. "Thanks for keeping things running smoothly while I've been...preoccupied."
