Chapter 1

POV: Krystal

"Krystal, wake up!"

I jumped up to see my best friend, Taylor, shaking me.

I groaned, "What?"

She rolled her eyes, "You know, today is adoption day!"

I jumped onto my feet, "Crap! I got to get ready!"

I ran into the bathroom and brushed my blonde hair, I took a shower yesterday.

Taylor walked into the bathroom, "I picked out an outfit that matches your pink highlights. Come look at it when you're done in here."

I nodded, "Thanks."

She smiled and left me to finish.

I finished and went back to my bed, on it was skinny jeans, a pink shirt that said gamer girl on it, and pink flats.

I smiled and turned to hug her, "Thank you!"

She hugged me back, "No problem." She then walked out of my room to let me get changed.

POV: Mark

Today is the day. The day I planned on adopting.

I was planning on getting a girl, between the age 12-15. I wanted a girl that was kind, sweet, lovable.

I ran around my house to make sure it looked perfect for when I bring that girl home.

I arrived at the adoption center and ran in, there were two couples here already.

I looked at the couples, the kids they adopt will have a mother and a father, mine will just have a father.

I sighed and sat down, I hope there is a child that won't mind.

POV: Krystal

I walked down the steps and into the line, I was last cause I was the oldest. And I arrived late.

I looked around for Sarah, my bully. But I didn't see her.

I thought I was safe till she pushed me up against the wall, "Listen here, you will not take this away from me."

One of her sluts laughed, "How will she do that?! No one will want her!"

Sarah laughed, "I guess you're right." She looked at my outfit, "Especially if she's wearing this."

I felt a tear stream down my cheek and onto the floor.

She laughed, "Awww, is the big baby crying."

I wiped the tear away and Sarah walked away, laughing her ass off.

I sighed and saw Taylor looking at me, worried.

I smiled and mouthed, "I'm fine."

She shook her head and looked forward.

She doesn't believe me.

POV: Mark

I was starting to feel hopeless, none of the girls were what I was looking for. Especially that Sarah kid. She was a total slut.

I was about to walk out of the room when the lady opened the door, "Last one!"

I sighed and sat down, one more wouldn't hurt.

The girl walked in and sat down across from me. She was wearing a gamer girl shirt which made me smile. But when I saw her puffy red eyes, I knew I needed to get her out of here.

I smiled, "Hi, my names Mark." I extended my hand.

She hesitantly shook my hand, "Krystal."

"What a pretty name....is it a 'c' or a 'k'?"

"K-K."

I nodded, "Not very often do you meet someone with a name like that."

She only nodded.

I sighed, "So! What do you like to do for fun?"

"Um." She put her hair behind her ear, "I like to play video games, read, draw, make video games...."

My eyes widen, "Hold up, you make video games?"

She nodded, earning a smile.

I laughed, "Then why are you so sad?! That's the best thing in the world!"

Her eyes widen, "Why do you think I'm sad?"

I turned serious, "It's easy to see....you're not happy here, are you?"

She let out a shaky breath and looked down, "I always dreamed of getting out of this hellhole." She looked up at me, "Sorry! I didn't mean to!"

I laughed, "It's fine....say....how would you like to go home with me?"

Her eyes widen and that's when I saw something I didn't see in her eyes when she first walked in here....
