POV: Krystal
I woke up the next morning in my room, ready to start the day.
Mark and I are good now. We still are a little fazed about the Hazel thing, but we're ok.
I got changed into my outfit, consisting of skinny jeans, a Zelda shirt, and black converse. I brushed my hair real fast and walked out of the room, hearing eerie silence.
Now, imagine a house that is always loud. Screaming, the TV going, people talking...then all of a sudden, the house being dead silent. Like no one lived there.
I walked over to Mark's bedroom door and slowly opened it, seeing him still in bed. His phone blaring.
Bingo.
I ran into the room and jumped on the bed, "MARK GET UP YOU SLEEPY HEAD!"
He shot up, knocking me off the bed in the process. I fell onto my ass with a loud thud, "OW!"
He looked down at me, laughing, "That's what you get for waking me up!"
"Hey! At least I didn't sleep through my phone blaring!"
He instantly grabbed the phone, picking it up and saying nothing. There were a few words on the other end, before Mark dropped the phone. His face was pale, eyes glassy.
Jumping out of bed, he threw on some pants and a shirt. How do boys do it? Sleep in their underwear? Then get changed with their daughter in the room. Might I say, it was very embarrassing.
He ran out of the room. I instantly got up and chased after him, "Where are you going?!"
He stopped at bathroom, getting ready to brush his teeth, "I have to go somewhere. I'll be gone for a while. Wade's going to watch you today." He stuffed the toothbrush into his mouth.
"What is it though?"
"A thing for a adult." He said. Well, tried too. It mostly sounded like he had food in his mouth. But I could make it out.
"Drinking?"
He shook his head slowly.
"Well, if there is drinking. Promise you won't drive yourself home?"
He spit out the toothpaste, "I won't..." His voice cracked, a single tear rolling down his cheek.
"Are you ok Mark?"
"Maybe." He whipped his mouth and chugged the mouthwash into his mouth, swishing it around.
I walked into the living room, jumping onto the couch and turning on the TV, thinking it was just water that got onto his face. Seconds later, Mark ran out of the bathroom and to the front door, throwing on his shoes, "I'll go get Wade and send him over here. Are you going to be ok on your own for a few minutes?"
I nodded hesitantly. To be honest, I hated being in a place all by myself. Just like I hated the dark. You never know what could happen.
"Ok." He walked over and gave me a kiss on the forehead, which I didn't object. When he pulled away, his eyes were sad, but his face had the biggest, fakest smile in the world. He walked to the door and left with a quiet 'bye'.
If I thought the house was quiet before, it definitely was now. And I hated it.
I pulled out my phone and checked notifications, seeing a bunch from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Kik. But one in particular stood out to me. It was a text on Kik. Somehow, a fan got my Kik. Curious, I opened it.
