The drive to the station was in silence, I felt like crap, because, if I was being honest with myself, Hallee was either critically hurt, or dead. I wasn't sure if I could deal with that, we had been together for years, she was my life, my joy, my help through sadness.
I pulled into the station, and walked into the station, with Victor trailling behind me.
"Excuse me officer, this is an emergency"
"What seems to be the issue?"
"I would like to report my girfriend missing"
"How long has it been since she was last seen"
I checked the clock, 11pm.
"Around, half an hour"
"Ma'am, you have to wait at least 24 hours to report a missing person"
I handed over the phone and bloodied jacked
"While I looked for her, I found these, I know these belonged to her. She was wearing this three quater zip today, and I know this is her phone, shes had this same one for a year."
"What is her full leagal name?"
He turned to the computer situated next to him, ready to type
"Her full name is Hallee Amber Brooks"
"And do you have an identifiable photo of her?"
I opened my phone, scrolled through my gallery to the most recent photo of her, she looked as pretty as normal, we had just got out of the movie theatre. I showed the photo to the officer.
After a few minutes, he looked satisfied.
"What was she wearing, at the time of dissaperance"
"She was wearing a grey t-shirt and leggings"
"And, how did she dissapear, and what had been happening during the last week, anything to motivate her runing away or some wanting to harm her?"
I explained the letters, her homelife, the camping trip, everything. By now it was 2am.
"Thank you for helpful information, I will sent out a crew of police and search dogs to try and return her as soon as possible"
"Anything for her. Do you need anything else from me?"
"Just before you leave, the system doesn't have a phone number for a parental guardian, do you happen to have contact information for a parent?"
"Well, her dad has left, and her mom is and alcaholic, and probably doesn't remember she has a daughter, why do you need their number?"
"We need a number to call if there is any updates"
"You can put my number down, i'm practcally the only person who cares about her"
"Sure, give us your number"
"Yep, my phone number is 1 312 429 4988"
"Thank you ma'am, we will get back to you as soon as possible"
"Thank you officer, bye"
I walked to the outside of the station, Victor had insisted to come with me, and it looked like he fell asleep in the truck, it had been hours since I walked into the staition, but he had waited for me.
"Hey, sleepyhead!"
He woke up, and looked slightly startled, but then at ease, but then scared again.
"Are you okay? You look frightened"
"Yeah, i'm fine"
"Where do you want me to drop you off?"
"Oh, my moms picking me up, I'll go wait in the station""Okay, sure, also do you want my number, so I can yet you know if there is any updates"
"Yeah sure!"
Victor looked quite enthusiastic, I gave him my number, he got out of the car, and he waved me off. I went home and slept till the afternoon.
