"All right. That's it for class today. There's only one week left before your final exams begin. I'm sure you're all studying constantly, right?" Mr. Aizawa announced, "Don't forget to keep training."
"The written exam is only one element. There's also the practical portion to worry about." He said, "Good luck." He left the classroom.
"I've barely even taken notes this semester!" Mina and Denki exclaimed at the same time. Oof.
"And with the sports festival and internship, I didn't have time to read the textbook." Denki whined. I feel like that's not much of an excuse.
I laughed when Midoriya, Ida, and Todoroki's attempt to cheer Denki up just made it worse. They did get top five in the midterms.
"Hey, don't worry about it, you two, I can catch you up to speed on the important topics, if you want." Yaomomo spoke up. She had the top score on the midterms.
"You're the best, Yaomomo!" Mina and Denki exclaimed.
I went home early so I could work on studying. I was the first to leave the classroom, not waiting for any of my friends.
I walked into the apartment, my cat running over to me. I giggled and took off my shoes. Let's get started.
I spent the time that I had training with dad and studying for the finals. I got sixth in the midterms. I need to do better this time.
So once the exams finally came around, I was ready.
...
"All right, put your pencils down. The last person in each row, bring the answer sheets to me." Mr. Aizawa stated. Mina and Denki thanked Yaomomo.
After three days of exams, it was finally time for the practical.
...
Everyone stood outside in our hero costumes. Our teachers stood in front of us.
"Now then... let's begin the last test." My dad said, "Remember, it's possible to fail this final. If you want to go to camp then don't make any stupid mistakes."
"I expect many of you have gathered information and believe you have some idea of what you'll be faced with today." Mr. Aizawa said.
"We're fighting those big ol' metal robots!" Denki shouted out. Huh? When did we come to this conclusion?
"Actually, this year's tests will be completely different for various reasons." Principal Nezu popped out from Mr. Aizawa's scarf.
"You're changing things?" Yaomomo gasped.
"The tests now have a new focus. There will be hero work, of course. But also teamwork and combat between actual people." Principal Nezu climbed down Mr. Aizawa.
"So what does this mean for you? You students will be working together in pairs, and your opponents will be one of our esteemed UA teachers!" Principal Nezu announced, "isn't that fabulous?"
My dad explained further about how we were paired up and who we were paired up with.
"Yayarozu and Todoroki against me." Mr. Aizawa smirked.
"Izumi, you're with Midoriya and Bakugo." My dad said. Fuck me bro.
First match, Sato and Kirishima vs. Cementoss.
Second match, Tsu and Tokoyami vs. Ectoplasm.
Third match, Ojiro and Ida vs. Power Loader.
Fought match, Yaomomo and Todoroki vs. Mr. Aizawa.
Fifth match, Uraraka and Aoyama vs. Thirteen.
Sixth match, Mina and Denki vs. Principal Nezu.
Seventh match, Kyoka and Koada vs. Present Mic.
Eighth match, Tooru and Shouji vs. Snipe.
Ninth match, Sero and Mineta vs. Midnight.
Tenth match, Izumi, Midoriya, and Bakugo vs. All Might.
"To complete the exam, you'll have 30 minutes. In order to win, your objective is to put these handcuffs on your teacher. Or you can win if one of you manages to escape from the combat stage." Principal Nezu explained.
"So we've either got to capture the teacher or run away." Denki mumbled to himself, "it's basically like the combat training."
"Yeah, but is it really okay to just jet?" Mina asked.
"Yup!" Nezu gave her a thumbs up. He's so adorable!
"It's going to be much different than the combat training you all went through earlier. After all, you're up against people way better than you!" Mic laughed.
"This time, your exam will be very similar to a real battle. As strange as it is, please think of us as villains." Thirteen spoke up.
"Assumin' you come across your enemy. If you think you can win against them, then fight." Snipe said.
"In instances where you are outmatched, it would be smarter to run away and find help. Todoroki. Ida. Midoriya. I'm sure the three of you understand." My dad said. What's that supposed to mean?
All Might explained about how the support course designed special weights for the teachers to wear during the fights to make it more fair.
Let's do this.
