As they traveled through the Sacred Forest, Zane noticed the path felt shorter. As if something was making the path easier to navigate. The ride was silent until the two passed by the ruins of a village. For Zane, Falcon Claw was nothing but an obstacle he had to trample in order to gain more information on how to find Y/N. An obstacle that could easily be removed by an amulet.
"Wait." Zane halted the horse when he heard Y/N.
"Is something wrong?"
"What happened here?" He turned his head to look at her. Wide-eyed, Y/N continued, "This is where Falcon Claw is supposed to be..."
Zane faced forward, slowly guiding the horse again. "The former lord went mad and killed the entire village. It hasn't been long since the tragedy. I believe only a year has passed. Was this your home?"
"No, it was my father's."
"Your father?" Zane questioned. Does that mean?
"Shad."
Zane brought the horse to the sudden stop, startling the girl behind him. "Shad the Destroyer was your father?"
"The Destroyer?"
Zane pondered. The child of the two most powerful Divine Warriors was currently sitting behind him. Not just a child, the absolute power that he had obtained by finding her would make all of Ru'aun fall into his command. Hell, he thought he got lucky by finding a remnant of The Matron. Now he has the potentially combined powers of Irene and Shad. She doesn't know him as the Destroyer. She must have been hidden before the battle between the Divine. Did Irene want to hide her from Shad? Just what happened to make the Divine turn on the Destroyer?
"Zane?" Y/N brought him from his thoughts.
"My apologies," he began, "We should keep going. The O'Khassian gates are right u[ ahead."
Crossing through the grand gates of O'Khasis, Y/N is in complete awe of how time took its toll so generously on the village she used to visit. Things were different, as expected, but parts of it felt so familiar. As the two continue through the streets of O'Khasis, Zane takes the time to learn more about the curious girl.
"Y/N, how much do you remember from before you were sealed away?"
She paused for a second before she answered, "Everything, I think. I traveled with my parents and the other Divine. We were just one big family. Oh! My friend Malachi too!" She was smiling slightly. Reminiscing on how life used to be mostly carefree.
"Do you possess any special abilities like your parents?"
"I.." She doesn't know how to answer that. She did. She knew she did, but Y/N never used her magicks in front of anyone except for the Divine Warriors. She's already revealed so much to Zane, but he has treated her with nothing but kindness. He even offered a place to stay right after freeing her from Esmund's seal. She had to trust him. "I do. I can heal injuries and summon a sword." That's all I will say for now. I don't know what other abilities I will develop.
"Interesting." Zane halts the horse for a final time now in front of the O'Khasis Castle. Zane slides off the horse and holds his hand out to help Y/N down. "Welcome, I'm sure that you must be hungry. Let me tell the staff-" He gets cut off when O'khassian guards approach.
"High Priest Zane, you are needed immediately."
Zane turns to Y/N, "I'm sorry, but could you let me handle this for a couple minutes? Please wait for me inside."
"Of course, take your time."
Y/N enters the grand estate. This wasn't here last time she was in O'Khasis. The ornate details embedded in the architecture leave her in awe as she continues to look around inside the entrance. While Y/N continues to admire the beauty of the castle, two young men around the same age as Zane enter from a hallway. Mid conversation, they stop in their tracks when they see a stranger looking back at them.
