As Jake leaped from rooftop to rooftop, Sujin followed behind him.
Jake: Why are you following me?
Sujin: For fun.
Jake: What do you mean, fun?
Sujin: How should I explain... Ahm, it's just that you seem different from how I used to remember you. You don't even behave like yourself now.
Jake (thought): He's onto me...
Jake: People can change. It's normal.
Sujin: I guess you're right.
Jake: So now that you got your answers, can you stop following me?
Sujin: Nope, I'd like to go with you.
Jake (thought): He's fucking stubborn. Argh!
Sujin: Besides, I wanna fight you again!
Jake suddenly stopped jumping and searched his memories more clearly.
Jake (thought): Argh! These cringey lines in my memories are making me cringe. Oh wait, what is this?
Something was approaching them at a rapid speed.
Jake: The fuck is that thing?
Jake turned around and saw Sujin breaking down, tears forming in his eyes. Sujin became restless and pulled his hair while gritting his teeth. Anger was evident in his eyes.
Ten years ago, a whole village was wiped out in a single night, leaving only one survivor, and it was Sujin. That horrifying night was called "Devil's Night."
Around ten years ago, a village named Gwanji used to exist. Villagers lived in peace and trained to become renowned martial artists. Every day, people woke up, trained, enjoyed, and slept. Everyone thought that day would be no different...
(Devil's Night)
Sujin (young): Argh! That was a good sleep.
After waking up, Sujin walked towards his sister's room and woke her up as well.
Sujin: Oi, brat, wake up.
Mira: Wahh! Let me sleep some more.
Sujin: Nope, can't let that happen.
Sujin then carried her out of the bed.
Mira: Can't even sleep properly!
Mira grumbled angrily, then got ready and waited for her breakfast. Sujin entered the kitchen and cooked her some good food. After making Mira her breakfast, Sujin sat down with her at the small wooden table.
Sujin: Eat up, brat. We've got a big day ahead.
Mira: What are we doing today?
Sujin: Training, of course. Master Lee said we need to be ready for the tournament next month.
Mira: Ugh, more training...
Sujin: Hey, the only way to get stronger is to keep at it.
Mira: Fine...
They both ate in silence, the usual morning noises of the village filtering through the open window. The sounds of people greeting each other, the clanging of swords, and the laughter of children playing.
Sujin: Alright, let's get moving. We don't want to be late.
They left the house and headed towards the training grounds. The village was alive with activity. People were busy with their daily routines.
Master Lee: Ah, Sujin, Mira. Good to see you both.
Sujin: Morning, Master.
Master Lee: Ready for some intense training today?
