Sinking Deep
It's been five years since our last kid was born, and my life hasn't changed much since. My children are growing up fast; they're in primary school now, and I've watched them grow into beautiful ones.
Rhea is now the school head at a different institution, having moved to find a fresh environment. It’s been approximately two years since she departed from Silverstre, and she has found the transition both challenging and stimulating. The new school has provided her with opportunities to implement programs and engage with a diverse student body.
But the only problem is...
"Wheww, I didn't know that eyebags will not look good on me." I mumbled habang nakatingin sa salamin.
"It really doesn't suits you." Rhea, my wife replied out of nowhere while using her laptop in the bed.
Marahan ko siyang tinapunan ng masamang tingin. "Everything suits me well." I shot back at her.
She looks at me with an 'ohh' expression.
I look at her then looks away, "Bumagay ka nga." I said in a low tone.
"But your eyebags don't," she laugh at me.
"Talaga ba?" gigil kong tanong but she's still chuckling. "Felt it too." I added withdrawing my anger. "I can't believe I married you.." I whispered in disbelief, applying night cream to my face.
She rested her arms on my shoulders.
"And you should be proud of that." She said her voice ringing in my ear and I chuckles.
"The heaven knows about that," I said. "Baby get off me now I'm still not done yet."
"Can't you priotize your wife first?" she asked.
"I've been prioritizing you for over a decade now," I replied to her while applying cream on my face while I laugh. Her face became serious.
She pulled her arms away from mine and stepped back. "You know what? Your sweetness is gone," she said.
"Babyy.." I said in a sweet tone.
"You used to be so sweet and loving, but you've changed a lot. You no longer reach out to me with tender touch. And keep talking about what you've done for me and our family." She seriously uttered.
"Rhea, love, calm down." Pigil ko sa kanya. "Hindi naman ganun ‘yon, that's not what it is. You don't think like that." Sabi ko trying to reach her.
She started sighing, "I know, but you've changed a lot since you started your restaurant business. And you wonder why you have those eyebags—it's because you're so stressed. You have too much on your plate."
"I'm doing fine, I am fine with it love." I replied calmly.
"I told you to let someone invest in your restaurant so you wouldn't have such a hard time managing it." Sagot niya, marahan siyang lumalayo pabalik sa kama
