Adrien's POV:

Eventually, Marinette and I--or rather Ladybug--met back up with Alya and Nino as they made their way back down the mountain.

"We were looking everywhere for y'all! What happened?" Alya questioned.

Marinette and I shared a knowing look.

"Uh... I guess you could say we got lost." I answered, laughing quietly. Marinette was looking down. Was she blushing?

"Yeah, we wandered a little off the trail and before we knew it we didn't know how to get back." Marinette added, trying to create a believable story. "Sorry."

"No, it's okay. We were just worried about you guys. You kinda went off the grid for a second." Alya responded kindly.

"I know, I know..." Marinette rubbed her neck, admitting our 'ill choices'.

"Anyway..." Nino butt in. "We're just glad you guys are okay. That's all that matters."

Marinette smiled at Nino, and I similarly appreciated the light-hearted shift. Alya, clearly exhausted, yawned. Which reminded me that it was very late at this point since we had spent the whole day hiking. Like 10:00 PM late.

The sky was a dark navy blue with hints of royal blue streaks that resembled brush strokes spanning across it. There were countless sparkling specks, not only decorating the scene but also providing a dim light that made the trail and trees surrounding it barely visible.

"Alright, I'm spent. Should we head back to the room now?" said Alya as she began trudging lazily down the trail, making each step look like heavy weights were dragging down at her ankles.

And just like that, the issue was dropped, and we all began to make our way back to the resort.

As I was in the bathroom just about to change into my pajamas, I heard a scream from outside the room.

"Hey, guys!" I could recognize exactly whose voice that belonged to. And even if I couldn't, I could make an educated guess that Alya Cesaire would be the one out of the four of us to be shouting. I couldn't tell if I should be worried by the obvious excitement in her tone.

"I have an idea. Let's all go for a night swim! Be ready in 10." She announced. Funny that nowhere in her declaration did she ask if we wanted to go for a night swim. But who was I to disobey orders? Night swim. Be ready in 10. Got it.

I finally exited the bathroom to see Marinette with her arms crossed as she lifted her shirt over her head. I couldn't help but notice how, as she lifted her T-shirt, she slowly revealed her smooth upper thighs. As her hands hiked her shirt up even higher, her low-waisted black string bikini bottoms came into view. And they barely covered anything. Soon my eyes traveled to her flat, sculpted stomach and small waistline. So small in fact, that I'd imagine that I could cup her torso in my hands. I bit my lip as I fought the urge to pull her into my arms right then and there.

Her shirt blocked her view of my face as she finally unveiled her round, perky boobs. What I would give feel and caress the soft skin of her breasts. I would appreciate every inch of her skin if she'd let me. Marinette was unbelievably beautiful.

Before I could realize, Marinette was looking at me silently. I averted my gaze and coughed slightly, embarrassed to be caught ogling her.

"Shall we?" I said, motioning to the door. Stupid, Adrien, you sound stupid. She laughed a little. At least she pitied me enough to laugh.

"We shall." She agreed, walking under my hand through the door.

Marinette's POV:

"Race you!" Alya yelled, taking off towards the pool. This girl is crazy, I thought.

"Oh, it's on!" I shouted back, moving rapidly in an attempt to catch up.

"Wooooo! I win!" Alya called out, cannonballing into the water.

"Fuck!" I hollered as I flung myself helplessly into the pool seconds later.

As I bobbed my head up above the surface, I noticed that Nino and Adrien were also in the pool now, looking at us in disbelief, as if to say, You guys are ridiculous. Oops, maybe I did get a little competitive, but I couldn't help it.

As I paddled to keep my head afloat, I noticed that the pool was lit up from underneath by glowing, neon blue lights. The body of water we were submerged in was surrounded lush greenery and rocks, making the environment feel more like a wild lagoon than a resort pool. Something about the night also gave our surrounding a new astonishing appearance that contrasted its look during the day.

"Ok, no fair!" I said to Alya. "You got a headstart!"

"Please, you're just a sore loser!" She brushed me off, pushing out her hand and letting it fall back into the water. "Tell her, guys!"

"What?" Nino called back, completely oblivious to our conversation. Adrien looked equally confused.

"Ugh, forget it." Alya responded, giving up. "We both know who really won." She joked, as she returned to her attention back to me.

"Yeah, right. Whatever." I replied in a similar tone, unbothered.

"Yo, do you guys wanna play chicken?" Nino yelled to us.

"Chicken?" Like the kids game? I wanted to say.

"Dude." Adrien added, also appearing a little surprised by his request.

"Yeah, chicken. Pretty sure Adrien's scared he'll lose if we play." Nino taunted his friend. Alya looked at me with her same evil grin.

"Yeah, why not?" She answered.

"Um, sure." A game of chicken couldn't hurt, right?
