"Y/n, daddy and mommy love you so much... More than anyone else in the world.."
M/n cradled sleeping y/n in her arms, whispering passionate words saturated with motherly love. "When daddy slays the demon, we'll, we'll...." Silent sobs made her at a loss for words. Her shoulders began to shake as tears blurred her vision.
Her brave husband was fighting Uppermoon 3, for her and y/n. Him, a thunder breathing user, sent multiple strikes to push the blue-tattooed demon further away from his wife and child. However, he couldn't do more than repeatedly cut his arms.
"Please, please don't die on me and y/n... I.. I can't continue... Please, stop... please.." She sobbed harder as she hugged y/n tighter.
Suddenly, a big explosion can be heard that made M/n's heart drop. A wave of sand and gravel dusted her cheeks. She placed a hand on y/n's nose and mouth, to prevent her from breathing in contaminated particles. Little sparks of thunder bounced along with dirt, foreseeing that the battle was over.
She pleaded for all the gods in the world, her eyelids shut and tears rolling down her features and onto y/n's sleeping form. "Please... Don't leave me..." But she confronted the terrible sight she never wished to see.
The demon's arm went through his stomach, his body soon losing strength and dropping his katana. Drops of crimson blood fell to the ground. Soon, it flowed out almost like a river, leaving huge blood steins.
"F/N!!!!"
He turned his head and gave them his last smile. "Arigato..."was his last word.
M/n's vision was blurry with endless tears welling in her eyes. Her shoulders shook harder as she heard a violent thud.
"Waaaah!" y/n wailed due to loud sounds and the sight of blood. M/n felt pity for her child, also ashamed that she wasn't strong enough to protect her husband, or keep y/n away from witnessing her father's death.
She smiled gently, rocking y/n back and forth in her arms. "Shh... This is a dream, y/n.. A dream.. Without the unicorns... Without dandelions and sunflowers... It's alright, y/n. When you wake up, Mommy will be by your side... Daddy will give his airplane rides, and you will be happy..." She hugged her rainbow-eyed daughter as if her whole life depended on her. More tears started to wet y/n's blanket.
"I love you, y/n..." she whispered.
Meanwhile, Akaza threw the dead man's body away and pulled out the yellow katana stuck halfway through his neck. As he saw the woman and her infant baby, the back of his head hurt. Like a memory within him craved that happy ending, with a daughter of his own in his arms, too. Nevertheless, he tried to shake it off.
"YOU BASTARD!!" Akaza just blankly stared as M/n screamed out words of burning rage. "You should've killed me!! YOU SHOULD'VE KILLED ME INSTEAD!!" Bright, pink eyes and black wavy hair tied up in a bun with a snowflake pin, M/n looked somewhat similar to someone in his wisp of memory. Someone who made him feel utter pain even demon slayers couldn't inflict.
Suddenly, Akaza felt a headache, and he groaned while supporting his forehead with his palm. "Who.. are you..." He approached the lady and her baby slowly, taking hesitant steps. "Who... that keeps appearing... in my mind, who are you..."
M/n's eyes widened, she had no idea who he was talking about. She bit her lower lip, afraid that this blue-tattooed demon might harm her daughter. Akaza was just inches away from her now, standing in front of her still with one hand on his forehead. Goosebumps made their way up her spine, cold sweat rolling off her chin.
He huffed out uneven breaths. "You..." He clenched his fist, trying to withhold the urge to punch this woman's head off. After more moments of silent groaning, he opened his right eye. "Get out of here. Before I lose my mind. GO!!"
M/n scooped y/n in her arms, then ran with all her remaining strength.
"F/n, sorry...."
