Some thousands of years ago, there lived a Star. Her name was Penelope. She was just like every other star out there, shining.
Even though her job as a star was plain and you could say kinda boring, she loved it. Her favourite time of the day was the night, when she was producing light and lit up the night sky, making it so magical. But, she didn't like the night for that reason, she liked it because at nighttime, she could see everything that happened at earth. How the children run around, laughing and shouting, lightening the mood of the people that walked by the lantern-lit street. How the wine shop owners opened their shops, ready to welcome their customers. How couples walked at the street holding hands tightly, like if they let go they would lose each other.
When the beautiful night ended, every star went home to relax and be ready for the night, or to some public place to socialise. For Penelope, that place was the library. Oh how she loved going there, reading books all day. From history books about the universe, to science books about earth. From outside, it was just a plain building, nothing to exaggerate about, but when you walked in, it was like you just entered a whole new world. It was really tall, so tall there could fit 5 floors or so, and from the bottom to the top was a gigantic bookshelf covering the whole wall. The walls had the color of the sand, while the bookshelf had the colors of the sunsetting sky. Penelope's favourite part about the library was the small quiet corner. At that corner hung a wooden chair from the ceiling, that looked like a swinging, where you could read your books.
The bad thing is that nobody went on the library, ever. They preferred to just go out with their friends or something, but she didn't, so she didn't have any friends. Instead, everyone mocked her and thought that she was weird for not going out of the library until the night.
Well, she couldn't care less, because her books were enough for her, but until when?
Someday, when she was classically reading in the library, she spotted a book that had been brought from earth. She hadn't seen anything like it before. The title was " The Lovers".
"Love?", Penelope thought to herself.
It was her first time learning about it, as stars didn't have romantic relationships. She opened the book and started to read it like a maniac. She had read it all in just 5 hours, just in time to go back to her place as the night came.
All the night she thought about that book. It talked about two lovers, meeting at the forest, were the man almost killed the woman as he thought she was a deer or something. They ended up spending time with each other and falling in love. They later on got married and made a family together, living happily.
She had seen couples before, but she didn't think much of it, as she thought they were just friends.
What startled her were the many emotions she had felt at that one book, when she hadn't felt even one of them at any of the other books.
Between all the emotions, there was something new, something that she had never felt before. Envy.
She was never jealous of the humans living more freely down on the earth as she liked her life as a star. But now, that she saw what emotions humans get to experience, she was jealous. She wanted to fall in love and live with someone for the rest of her life too. She wanted to make a family too. She wanted to experience all of the emotions that the book showed, but how?
That is the first part of my story, I hope you like it!!💕💕
