it's been almost a week since the argument in nick and molly's room, and to say that the teens were still tense would be an understatement. luckily, however, the parents have been ignorant to the unusually quiet mornings and awkward strain between them.

molly has tried her best to make amends by making small talk and apology cupcakes but she hasn't gotten much attention back. the eldest brother hasn't even acknowledged what's happened, leaving the only thompson the girls have really talked to since is landon. nick doesn't really blame him for what happened considering he didn't really say much and bexley has her own reasons she's been trying to figure out.

though, even with the mass amount of unwanted attention her mind has put on landon in the past few days, her current focus is her friend as she walks into her and molly's room.

when she swings the door open her eyes catch nick's figure staring bewilderedly at her phone. bex's eyebrows immediately furrow in a frown and she hastens her steps forward while nick spins around to face her.

"what's wrong?" bex questions, running her gaze over nicks face to see any indication of her distress.

nicks mouth is still agape before she looks away with a mix between a sad sigh and annoyed scoff.
"dad called. he needs us to get more money for the lawyer."

frowning deeper and crossing her arms, bex sighs. "how much?"

"ten thousand." nick faces her friend again and narrows her eyes with frustration. "by tomorrow."

"are you shitting me?" bex's arms fall back to her side and her eyes widen before she breaths out. "but, we already gave them the five thousand."

"that's what i said. in my less than thirty second conversation with him." her angered expression makes bexley's soften.

"is that the first time he's called all week?" bex's arms recross as she frowns, knowing the answer was yes.

nick just nods briefly before switching the conversation back. "he said to steal it from the thompson's. again."

bex and nick hold eye contact, sharing their current irritation and conflictions about the situation silently. though, before either can complain verbally, liz calls them downstairs for breakfast.

two loud sighs are released before they turn around and begin route to the kitchen. when they're bodies becomes visible on the staircase, liz smiles.

"hey girls, good morning." both girls remain expressionless, still troubled by tony's request. liz doesn't notice though, and sighs for her own reasons. "listen, i've got some bad news."

"awesome." nick squints with her fake smile.

looking at ed, who sits on a bar stool at the island, liz frowns before looking back towards bexley and nick. "we got tickets to hamilton a long time ago, before you two came to live with us." she pauses to hand a plates of food them. "but here's the thing. we only got four."

"we tried to get two more, but they were totally sold out." ed explains from next to them.

"yeah." liz breathes dejectedly. "so would you guys be really upset if we went without you? i mean, you'd have to be home alone. but afterwards we could bring back a pizza."

furrowing her brows, bex looks between the adults. "when's this happening?"

"tomorrow. we have to leave by noon." the woman frowns.

turning to look at each other, the two teens share a look of idea that causes them to smirk slightly. "actually," nick nods, looking away to ed and liz. "that would work out great."

the parents eyes look between the two girls with confusion before they puts on another fake smile and begin to cover up.

"i mean, we totally wanna be in the room where it happens." nick laughs lightly. "but we understand. you guys had a life before us."
