That is the horrid sound of my alarm at 4:30 in the morning.
I hate being up this early, but today is my first day as a medical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital. Sighing I sit up in my bed, throwing my heavy duvet off of my body. My Maine Coon cat Melvin lays curled up near where my head was. As I stood up, I tripped on a box, which is why I am now lying face down on my bedroom floor.
I moved to Seattle from Michigan, literally 4 days ago and just yesterday I finally got all my boxes to my new apartment. I miss my house in Michigan.
I let out a loud grunt and heave myself off my floor and out of my bedroom to the kitchen where I prepare coffee for myself. Just regular coffee with a bit of French vanilla creamer in it. I CANNOT drink straight black coffee. Kudos to those who can though.
I Check the time on my phone and realize it's almost 5AM already. "Holy sweet Mother Mary!" I said and started to rush around my apartment. Throwing on a pair of jeans and a long sleeve dark green shirt. Putting my coffee into a to-go cup, I finally rush out of my apartment, locking the door and rushing to the elevator. It is now 5AM.
Walking to my car, there's a man who is pacing around the parking lot and muttering. I try not to make eye contact and get in my car quickly locking the doors. As I pull out of the parking lot he starts walking with haste towards my car and is pointing and yelling. I speed out and down the road, taking a deep breath.
The 25-minute drive is mostly quiet except the radio softly playing as I sip my coffee, traffic is light thank goodness. I pull into the hospital parking lot seeing a group of 5 walking towards the entrance doors. Taking a deep breath, I get out of my car and walk to the entrance.
