Chapter 3

Gon pov

I skip my way into the library, a grand building in comparison to all the other buildings made for normal civilizan. I'm assuming it has something to do with the royal family wanting its citizens to be smart or something.

I look around the place, scanning it for Leorio. However he's nowhere to be found. "Am I too early..?" I thought to myself as I glanced around to no avail. I walk over to the section I'm frequently in, the section about the kingdom's history. It's almost always empty. No one seems all that interested in Royals like I am, the library staff seems to know me for it.

To be honest I really don't like reading but it's the only way I can seem to get any leads on getting the attention of Ging.

"Huh..?" I said to myself as I see a familiar face look back at me. He's holding a stack of books, his sapphire blue eyes observing my face. "It's cafe guy--!" I said out loud to myself then put my hand over my mouth. "Uh I'm sorry who are you" the guy said to me, he seemed very clearly caught off guard.

"I uh I'm Gon Freeces!!" I said with a small smile. The guy nodded. His hair the color of the moon and his cat-like eyes lowered as he looked at me. He seemed to be lost in thought. "What's your name?" I asked him, trying not to seem like a total weirdo. "I'm Killua" he replied, his voice smooth, soothing almost. It suited him a lot. "This guy's beautiful" I thought to myself but then snapped back to reality when he spoke yet again.

"So are you interested in this history stuff too?" He asked me, placing the stack of books he was lugging around on a small coffee table in the general area. "Mhm! I didn't think anyone else around here really cared at all about it" I replied confidently. "I know everything there is to know about them, a friend of mine works here and he showed me a bunch of cool stuff about the royals.

"I see" he replied, he really seemed out of it. I wonder what he's thinking about. "Why are you so interested in the royals anyways if you don't mind me asking?" He asked me looking at me expectantly. "Hmm it's because my dad's a Royal but he kinda ditched me and everyone else in my family when he became one so I wanna try and get him to acknowledge me and my aunt" I told him honestly. For some reason I felt like that was the right thing to say to the guy. It was something in the way he looked at me.

Killua sits down at the coffee table with a slight smile on his face. "So that's it--!" He taped his fist to his palm. "So Mr know it all about the Royals, can you tell me a few things about them, I'm pretty curious about them" he asked me. I sat down across from him happily. "Sure!!"

Pov change Killua

"That was an unexpected find, and he knows a ton about the royals. This is perfect. If I tell dad about him in the letter he might trust me more to complete the mission and not run off." I thought to myself as I listened to Gon ramble on and on about the Royal Family. "You got all of that Killua?" He asked me, his eyes  lit up talking about them. "Yeah I do thanks" I replied knowing I only really got that last part.

"So Killua why do you wanna know so much about the Royals anyways" the hazel eyed boy asked me with a look of curiosity on his face. "Oh well, I've just always been interested in reading bout new places I visit." It was true but it wasn't 100% of why I wanted to know.

This boy. Gon Freeces is the key to getting Alluka and I to be able to live a better life, away from the Zoldycks, the palace and the responsibility's that come with it. "Hey Gon whose this guy" I heard an unrecognizable voice say, I look over to the guy looming over Gon, whose eyes were turned towards me.

"This is Killua, he was in the Whale island history section of the library and I told him all about the Royals" he told the guy then looked at me. "Killua, this is Leorio, the librarian friend I have, he works here part time. I nodded to the guy, he was extremely fucking tall and had glasses on. "Hey" I said to him.

"Just hey-- never mind that it's nice to meet you Killua" he stuck his hand out to me. I shook it awkwardly. "Hey Gon.." Leorio whispered something to Gon I couldn't hear. He probably thinks I'm suspicious or something that's great. Gon shook his head in response. "It's fine.. I have a good feeling!" He replied to Leorio with a reassuring smile.

"Well if you say so, I got you the papers you wanted by the way." Leorio handed Gon a folder filled with what looks like many documents. "Thanks Leorio!" Gon smiled at Leorio who smiled back at him. "No problem, anytime!! I still have a bit of work to do so I'm off, if you guys need anything feel free to ask"

Leorio walked off to his blonde haired co-worker. Gon looked back at me. "So Killua you have anything else to do today? I have nothing and I don't want to just sit alone at home" Gon offered to me generously.

Perfect just what I needed, the more I can learn about Gon Freeces the better. I nod and get up placing the books I checked out into my bag. "Sure, what did you have in mind?" I asked him. "You said you're new to town right? I can show you around"

The boy walked out in front of me. "We can start with the town square There's so much to see over there!" He said to me like an excited child, that really is what he is though, he can't be more than 15. My age. I really didn't expect that much.

I followed Gon out to the town square. The late day light shining on to the city, it was beautiful. There were many different vendors selling local produce, from fish to sweets they had it all. The baked desserts in the window of one of those bakeries caught my eye.

"You want one?" I heard Gon say, he noticed me staring for a bit too long. "Oh uh yeah kinda I guess" I said awkwardly. I really shouldn't be thinking of my stomach right now. Gon nodded and skipped on into the establishment, purchasing a few different desserts. He handed me a brown paper bag. "Here you go Killua!" He said looking at me. "Oh thank you" I said taking the bag from him peaking inside.

That's a lot of chocolate. Perfect. I didn't even need to say it but maybe it's because 90% of what they were selling is chocolate. The owners here are just like me at least in that regard. I took out a cookie and took a bite. "Holy that's great" I mumbled to myself munching on my cookie.

Gon was staring at me while I ate it, kinda weird but he gave it to me so.. "The treats here are my favorite, aunt Mito always buys my birthday cake here" Gon explained to me.

"The stuff here is great" I replied happily devouring the dessert. I should note this place down for when I bring Alluka here.

After I finished eating a few of the things Gon bought me we looked around in the market, seeing a bunch of cool things the locals were selling. Gon seemed to be quite popular, in fact a whole bunch of the shop keepers knew him and gave us discounts.

Soon the time faded to night. We were beginning to reach the dock at the far end of the city. The air filled with Gons laughs as he told me stories he linked to certain places he took me too. I felt light. Like a weight on my shoulders had been lifted. I can't believe I missed out on doing all of this.

"Killua this is the end of it all" he said sitting on the edge of the dock, his feet barely above the water." I sat down next to him looking up at the moon. "Already--? Man I thought there was way more" I replied, I did genuinely want to see more.

"You wanna hangout again tomorrow?" Gon asked me to look at my face for an answer.

I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah of course Gon."
