Narrator:

The sun high in the sky the two girls sat on the roof together.

"I love the sunset."

Suki exclaimed with a sigh.

"Umm well actually since it's 5pm it's not a sunset, it's just the afternoon."

Estelle explained in her nerdy voice.

She knew exactly how to piss Suki off. It was as if she controlled the little string of her temper for fun. Suki punched her arm hard.

"OWWW YOU BABOON!"

Estelle exclaimed.

Suki mocked her voice. They both sit there, Suki's head leaning on Estelle's shoulder, they held hands.
Suki was always the touchy, clingy type. The sunshine character who enjoyed people's company. The goofy, loud, funny, stubborn, and annoying type. That was her. And not to forget lazy, you'd hear a thousand complaints fall from her lips before she even does a simple task. Suki had these gorgeous eyes that in the sun looked like a endless desert full of hidden riches and blessings. Her smile could make the cruelest of people happy. Her beautiful cherry red hair which shined in the sun.

Estelle, on the other hand, was the opposite. She was distant, disociated avoidant, calm. She had her moments where she was funny and energetic, but only when she was with Suki. She needed her own time and space away. She was kind, soft in nature, always believed there was good in everyone no matter who. Suki often had to slap her out of that delusion. Her long curly hair that swayed in the wind, dark brown eyes that looked like the starry nights. She had softened rough features.

They were like the sun and moon. The wind and sea. They liked it that way, they were best friends. Always have been.

Just then Suki started yapping again as usual,

"I'm bored!!"

She got up and started pacing around the roof.

"Not my fault! We can play something?"

Estelle suggested.

"I don't wanna do that!"

"Then what do you want?!"

Estelle screamed in her usual metal man voice that always made Suki laugh. She loved it when she laughed, it gave her hope and reassured her that she wasn't "boring".

"I don't know..."

Estelle got up and sat on the edge of the roof, her back facing the edge.
Suki felt a little panicky about her sitting there,

"Bro you're gonna fall and you're gonna die, get down now."

Suki demanded.

"Wouldn't that be funny? Like you just see my body just Peter Griffin fall off the roof."

Both girls laughed.

She sat there swinging her feet while suki stood next to her.

"I'm turning sixteen soon.. you're already sixteen you pedo. Look at you, the law says fourteen, but I like them youngerrr."

She bullied suki for her old age. They were only a month apart, yet she treats it like it's five years.

"Shut up. I don't find you funny."

She bonked the top of Estelle's head.

Suki, acting as if nothing has happened, starts talking.

"It scares me that soon we will be 18, and have the responsibilities as an adult..like..our childhood is ending and we didn't even get to enjoy much of it-"

just then Suki got cut off by Estelle's words.

"WOMP WOMP",

Suki stood there. Looking at Estelle in pure irritation.

"I will push you off the roof."

Estelle who was giggling and laughing suddenly stops and looks at her.

"Lemme tell you something...lemme lemme tell you something."

"HHHHH ooooo if I pushed you right now, you wouldn't be able to do anything."

Suki scaring her by fake pushing her.

"Stopp, don't do this to me bruh..DONTTT."

"Finee."

Suki stood by the side again, looking at the sunset.

Suki saw a bunch of crows perched on the clothing wire. She quietly walks over to them.

"Don't scare them.."

Estelle said softly, only to get shushed by a concentrated Suki.

With a loud "Boo!" Suki scared all the crows. Not knowing the ripple effect of her actions all the crows flew past Estelle, knocking her off the edge.

She screamed for Suki's help as she clinged on to the edge.

"Shit!"

Suki ran over and grabbed Estelle's hand.

"Pull me up pull me up!"

She begged with tears in her eyes.

As their hands start to slip Suki gathers all her strength and pulls Estelle back up over the edge.

They both lie on the floor. Their hearts racing.

"I guess I didn't have to push you off the edge, the crows did it for me."

Suki made the joke, trying to laugh it off. Estelle remained silent, her heart still beating harder than ever.

"That was the scariest thing in my life.."

Suki sat up and looked at Estelle for a while,

"Let's go downstairs... I've had enough of the roof."

"Yeah me too."

They walk down the seemingly never ending stairs.

"Also.. let's not tell my mom about this..."

Both girls agreed not to tell anyone, since they would get scolded and forbid to go outside.
They reach the ground floor and walk out the door. A whole horde of people surrounding Suki's house. Some people looking at her with strange eyes. She couldn't read their intent.

"Why are there so many people here? Why are they all around my house?"

Estelle stayed silent and didn't answer Suki's questions.

"Come on, let's go exploring in the forest before it gets dark."

Estelle suggested.

"Yaya okayy!"

Suki happily walked along.
