I got home shortly before midnight. Of course I couldn't go through the front door, Are you Loco ? I'm not trying to lose my life. So I went through my window-As usual. I mean, The whole August situation did make me curious as to WHAT exactly he was into, But it's not like I can make him stop. He's grown, He's got to take care of his own. School went on as usual. I kept my crush on August on the low. If Toni found out-He'd KILL me. "Mami! Donde esta mi mochila?" (Mom, Where is my Backpack) I yelled as I searched for my backpack. My mom didn't answer, So I went to go find her. She stood in the kitchen talking to Ricki. "Mami, Has visto mi mochila?" (Have you seen my backpack) I said with a hint of annoyance in my voice. "No carino" She replied, turning both of their attention to me. I grunted. "You almost ready?" Ricki asked curiously. I nodded No. "I can't find my backpack" I whined. I turned back toward the hall. "Try Alex or Avery" Ricki called after me. I went up the stairs and went straight to their room. "ALEX!" I called. My younger brother appeared "What?" He spoke. He always sounded annoyed when he talked to me. "Have you seen my backpack?" I questioned. "No" He answered. "Well, ask Avery" I instructed. "What do we want with your crap?" He questioned. "Watch it Ninito(Little boy)" I said before I made my way back to my room. I sighed as I spotted my backpack-on my bed. I SWEAR it was NOT on there when I left. I approached the bed slowly. I picked it up and slung it over my shoulder. Then I left for school. August and I hung out almost everyday after school. "So, Why can't I come over?" He asked as we sat on the hood of Marc's car. "B'cause, I don't know what my familia would think"-"Why does it matter? We ain't t'gether or nothing, I could say i'm Alex or Avery's homeboy-They know me" He said. It seemed like a pretty good idea...Now I just had to get Alex and Avery in on it..."Alex! Ven aqui'(Come here)" I said as I watched my brother exiting the school building. He slowly made his way to me. "What?" He spoke. "Okay look, I need your help on something..." I began. I explained the whole situation the way that August planned it. "So you want us to sneak your novio (Boyfriend) into the house? And he'd have an excuse to be there b'cause he's our homeboy"-"Yes, But he's not my Novio" I said. He chuckled. "I love it when you try to lie b'cause you suck at it" He challenged. August appeared by my side. "Look lil' dude, yo sister just wants me t'see y'alls crib-There ain't nothing goin on aight-" He said, adding a wink to the end of his sentence. He didn't think that I seen, But I did."Aight big sister, We got you" Alex assured. Something was fishy-Alex NEVER agrees that easy...
