"I think they're trying to lead us somewhere," Ivor mused. "Should we follow them?"
Jesse nodded to the strange zombies. "I guess so. You and Lukas go ahead and we'll catch up. I wanna talk to Petra really quick."
Ivor raised an eyebrow and Lukas nodded. "If that's what you want us to do. Just...don't linger here too long, okay?"
Jesse nodded back, waiting for them to start walking a little ways before turning to Petra. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Like what?"
He gestured to her. "Like that."
She ran over her face and sighed. "I don't know what you're talking about, Jesse."
"I--you know what, never mind. I'm worried about these zombies, if I'm being completely honest. If we get overrun by a horde of those, we're done for. So, I want you to have these."
He reached into his pocket, pulling out two Ender Pearls. Petra's eyes widened. "Woah, why do I need these?"
"In case we get cornered and need to escape."
"What about everyone else?"
"I'm giving you two for a reason, aren't I?"
Her black eyes flicked up to his green ones. "What about you?"
"I have more," he lied. "The White Pumpkin had plenty. Besides, have you ever heard of 'main character syndrome'...?"
She snorted, finally taking the Pearls from him. "Keep feeding that ever-growing ego of yours, Jesse."
"I try," he grinned. "Now let's see where these zombies will take us."

A/N: Y'ALL, WELCOME TO MY FIRST EVER FANDOM. I am trying my hand at writing MCSM fanfiction again for the first time in four years (time flies, huh?)
