Mary-Anne's POV:

"Are you reeeaaallyyy gonna go to the castle Mary-Anne?" Zee whines. Zee is like a little sister to me. I found her trying to break in one night and she started crying when I caught her.

Zee and I are similar. Both orphans who were abandoned. It breaks my heart to have to leave her but I can't let go of my dream I've been holding onto for so long. "Yes Zee. You'll be alright, I promise."

Zee pouts jutting out her bottom lip. "Can I come with you? Pleassseeee...." she nags and I drop the sword I've been sharpening. "Look kiddo. When I become captain of the female knight squad, I promise you I'll come back for you." I cup her cheeks and give a reassuring nod.

She drops her shoulders and sighs. "Okay. I'll wait for you." She smiles sadly. I ruffle her hair and walk over to my bags. "Come help me out. We can go get some apple pie before I leave", I beckon for her to come help and she jumps up excitedly.
